💐HAPPY WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH! 💕💪💕
On this Financial Freedom Friday, SheWill, Inc. pays homage to Muriel Siebert, who is often referred to as the “first woman of finance.” In 1967, she made history by becoming the first woman to secure a seat on the New York Stock Exchange, standing out as the sole female member among 1,365 male floor traders.
She switched jobs multiple times during her career due to receiving lower pay than her male counterparts. She later established her own brokerage firm and took on the role of superintendent of banking in New York.
“Women must continue to knock down barriers. When a door is hard to open and if nothing else works, sometimes you just have to rear back and kick it open.” ~ Muriel Siebert (1928-2013)
