A special thank you to Sandy’s Creative Kids Day Care for allowing us to come visit and discuss fire prevention with the children and staff. Each child received a fire hat and special bag of goodies with fire safety education materials in it.

Junior Firefighter Midnight Alarm Relay.

09/14/2026

Hamlet junior firefighters, are busy this evening learning and checking off new skills during their monthly meeting. We are very thankful for our junior firefighters, and all that show support in the community with our program including the advisors that work endlessly on the backend to keep the frontend going. “The firefighters we shape today will be the guardians of tomorrow.”

Community outreach! Talking with kids! Having them remind their parents to check their smoke detectors, have an escape plan or just being friendly and reading a book! We’re always willing! Remember Sunday is Daylight Savings time! Don’t forget to roll those clocks and check/change the batteries in your smoke and CO detectors!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the McDougald family and friends, Mac was a legend in the NCFS and served the State of NC and Scotland County faithfully for many years. He also helped the Fire Service in Scotland and Richmond County anyway he could. Rest in peace 80.
