Monroe county has issued a county wide burn ban. As dry as it is things can get out of control quickly. The county board will address it as we get the needed rain. Thanks.

Yes, The burn ban is lifted. But, please be considerate of couple things before you burn.
1. It is still dry outside. Make sure you have a hose or make area around your fire safe to burn.
2. It has been really windy. Strong wind and gusts of wind will cause a control fire to jump into places it shouldn’t be.
Paper products such as card board and bags will have embers float in the wind and can easily cause a fire to spread.
Solutions, let the wind die down. Early in the morning or late in evening.
Don’t burn unless you have water hose close.
Don’t leave fires unattended right now.
Middle of the day is the most windy and volunteers are mostly at work.
