Today, we honor all the different ways motherhood exists.

To the new moms, seasoned moms, solo moms, grieving moms, foster moms, stepmoms, bonus moms, hopeful moms, exhausted moms, and the moms silently carrying more than anyone realizes, we see you.

Motherhood can be beautiful, overwhelming, joyful, isolating, healing, and incredibly hard all at once. Maternal mental health matters for every version of motherhood, and no one should have to navigate it alone.

This Mother’s Day, we hope you give yourself the same compassion you so freely give to others. And if today feels heavy, complicated, or emotional, there is space for that too.

Today we hold space for the mothers who are grieving

The ones who have lost a child.
The ones who have lost their own mothers.
The ones who carry love without the ability to hold it the way they once did, or hoped to.

Mother’s Day can be heavy. Complicated. Quiet.

If that’s you, your grief is valid, your love is still present, and you are not alone.
We see you today and always.

Postpartum psychosis is often misunderstood, and rarely talked about (although we are working hard to change this in the perinatal world!!!!!).

Today is about bringing awareness to a condition that can feel scary, isolating, and overwhelming for both the individual and their loved ones. It’s also a reminder that these experiences are treatable, and support can make all the difference.

No one should have to navigate this alone.

05/01/2026

Today is Pregnancy and Postpartum Psychosis Awareness Day ( ).

We’re joining the PPP Awareness Day team and the wider community to raise awareness of postpartum psychosis, psychosis in the perinatal period and maternal mental health.

🚨 Postpartum psychosis is a treatable medical emergency. With the right support, recovery is possible.

We want to help open up more conversations, reduce stigma, and make sure everyone affected knows where to turn for help and support.

Get involved today and during Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week:
• Follow Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP) and Pregnancy & Postpartum Psychosis, PPP, Awareness Day on social media and share to help reach more people 📣
• Join APP’s global forum of over 4,000 people on HeathUnlocked and chat with our trained peer support staff, volunteers and wider community. You’re welcome to browse if you’re not ready to post or reply yet 💬
• Sign up to become part of the APP network, and receive our newsletter to stay informed and connected 💜

Save the Date: The Great Give • May 6–7

Maternal Mental Health Day shines a light on the emotional realities many parents face, especially those who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss. Research shows that bereaved parents are at increased risk for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and prolonged grief, yet their needs are too often unseen or unsupported.

This year, the first day of The Great Give falls on Maternal Mental Health Day, giving us a powerful opportunity to raise awareness and rally support. During this 36‑hour giving campaign, we will be focusing on the growing need for our Burial and Cremation Financial Assistance Program, which provides immediate, tangible relief to families facing unimaginable loss.

Mark your calendar and help us spread the word. and reach our goal of $2500. Together, we can ensure no family has to navigate this heartbreak alone.
