Nikki is a great dog.

2 years old. 65 pounds. Already knows how to live in a house.

House trained, crate trained, leash trained. No chaos. No guessing. Just a dog who gets it.

She’ll follow you from room to room, go for a walk, hop in the car then flop on the couch with you and be a potato.

She likes toys. She likes people. She likes being included.

Nikki gets along with other dogs and can live with fixed males or as the only dog. She’s fine with cats. She likes kids, but very young toddlers make her a little leery.

Right now she’s stuck in a situation where another female dog won’t accept her, and it’s not something she can just “work through.”

So we’re not asking her to.

We’re moving her.

Because Nikki doesn’t need management. She needs peace.

⚠️ FOUND DOG — ABBOTT AREA ⚠️

This dog was found in Abbott, and we need help getting them back home.

If this is your dog, or you recognize them, please reach out immediately:

We’re trying to locate an owner as quickly as possible. If no owner is found soon, we’ll need a foster to step in so this dog isn’t left waiting in limbo.

🚨 We’re asking for your weekly vote again 🚨

Every week, we show up with the same simple ask — because the needs on the ground don’t slow down.

Voting helps unlock funding that turns directly into supplies we burn through constantly: food, medical basics, cleaning supplies, puppy formula, and everything it takes to keep rescue moving day to day.

It’s not a one-time impact. It stacks. One vote becomes part of the support system that keeps the doors open for the next animal who needs in.

If you’ve got a few seconds today, we’d really appreciate your vote. If you’ve been showing up for us every week, we see you — and we’re grateful for it. ❤️

RIP Bart, Hemi, and Sadie.

Three good dogs who needed someone to say yes.

Someone to open a door. Someone to make room. Someone willing to take a chance.

Those people never came and their stories are over.

No more photos to share. No more networking. No happy adoption updates. Just three empty kennels at the pound where three hopeful lives used to be.

We’re so sorry, Bart, Hemi and Sadie.

Nothing can change what happened to you, but Teddy and Cato are still here.

Both will be euthanized TOMORROW unless fosters step forward and apply TODAY.

Not later. Not next week. Not when life slows down.

Today.

Bart, Hem and Sadie needed homes and never got them.

Teddy and Cato still have a chance.

Apply to foster today.

Marty needs a new place to go….quickly. 😬

His foster family is moving, which means this good boy is about to lose the home he’s known. Through it all, the one thing everyone says about Marty is simple:

“Marty is the best.”

He’s the kind of dog who fits into a home without turning life upside down. Great with dogs. Great with cats. Gentle. Affectionate. Well-mannered. He doesn’t make messes, doesn’t bark much and is the sort of companion who is just happy to be part of the family.

At 49 pounds, Marty is the perfect sidekick for someone looking for an easygoing dog with a big heart.

🐾 Terrier mix
🐾 Male, born around 9/4/2021
🐾 Neutered
🐾 Heartworm negative
🐾 Up to date on vaccines and preventatives
🐾 Dog friendly
🐾 Cat friendly
🐾 Excellent house manners

Marty has done everything right. Now he just needs someone to open a door for him before he runs out of time in his current foster home.

🫡 Spot is signing off this Sunday with a tail wag and a full heart!

He’s headed into his new week officially as a loved, chosen, adopted dog—with couch space, snack crumbs and a name said with his whole future behind it.

See ya later, Sunday. Spot’s home. 💖

Two years.

For two years, Arrie survived on her own in Van Buren.

She was a dog living on the edges of people’s lives, raising litter after litter wherever she could find shelter. By the time we got the call about her, she had just given birth to what we believe was her fourth litter. The puppies were tucked beneath a shed. A Good Samaritan was doing everything possible to watch over them, but Arrie remained elusive, coming only to nurse before disappearing again.

We had helped her previous litter earlier that year, but when no foster stepped forward for Arrie, she slipped away once more.

Then history started repeating itself.

Before the puppies were even six weeks old, Arrie stopped returning. We brought the puppies into safety and continued searching, hoping for another chance to help their mom.

Eventually, that chance came.

After an intense effort involving dedicated volunteers, patient planning, and more than a little determination, Arrie was finally brought into rescue. The dog who had spent years surviving on her own was safe at last.

But rescue was only the beginning.

Because transport partners stepped up, Arrie was able to move to a foster home where the real work began. The frightened mom who couldn’t be approached had to learn that people could be trusted. That homes were safe. That beds were soft. That hands could bring comfort.

Her foster family gave her the time she needed. And little by little, Arrie changed.

Today, she sleeps in bed.

She asks for belly rubs.

She enjoys running and exploring the yard.

She loves other dogs and finds confidence in having a canine companion nearby.

Most importantly, she has learned something she never had the chance to learn during those years on her own:

She is safe.

Arrie’s story belongs to every person who played a part in it. The Good Samaritan who watched over her family. The volunteers who refused to give up looking for her. The foster who helped her discover what home feels like. The rescue and transport partners who made sure she got the opportunity she deserved.

A dog who spent years surviving is now learning how to simply live.

She hasn’t found her forever home yet, but today she’s safe, cared for, and continuing to grow in a foster home where she can keep building the confidence she never had the chance to develop on her own.

For a dog who spent two years raising litter after litter and fending for herself, that’s a remarkable change.

And it only happened because people came together and refused to let her story end any other way. ❤️

🚨 CATO & TEDDY — OUT OF TIME MONDAY 🚨

No fosters have stepped up. No exits have opened. Just two young dogs sitting in the same pound where they’ve spent most of their short lives, now running out of it completely.

Cato and Teddy will be euthanized Monday if nothing changes.

This is the part people don’t want to sit with — because it’s easier to want dogs rescued than it is to actually be the reason one gets out alive. But right now, that gap is exactly where they are.

Two dogs. One deadline. Monday decides everything.

This only changes if someone steps in before then.

They don’t need opinions. They need people applying right now.

Because once Monday hits, there is no more room for hesitation, no more waiting for the “right time,” no more next steps.

Just the outcome no one wanted.

🙏🏻 Nikki needs a home.

This 2-year-old, 65-pound Terrier mix is currently in a home where the resident dog does not like her and we’d love to find her a foster or adopter where she can finally relax and enjoy being the dog she is.

And she’s a really good one.

Nikki is spayed, up to date on vetting, crate trained, house trained, and leash trained. She loves toys, walks, car rides, and spending time with her people. She enjoys playing with other dogs and would do best with fixed male dogs or as the only dog in the home.

She’s laid back, well-mannered, and happiest when she’s hanging out with her family. She loves kids, although toddlers can make her a little uneasy. She’s also shown no interest in cats.

Nikki isn’t looking for anything fancy. Just a home where she can feel comfortable, be included, and leave the drama behind.
