JUST SOME OF THE THINGS RIVER ARTS DID IN 2025 AND WILL BE DOING IN 2026:
ARTWALK
River Arts coordinates ArtWalk first Saturday each month, encouraging the arts as an economic base for all of Guerneville. River Arts sponsors street musicians, free community arts, special events and coordinates publicity. A primary goal is to encourage the arts as an economic base for all of Guerneville.
CRAFT FAIR
Our annual Autumn Craft Fair brings the community together, showcases local crafters and builds the local economy. Community organizations are given free space for informational outreach. Music provided by young musicians from the SANTA ROSA SYMPHONY YOUTH ORCHESTRA.
COMMUNITY ART
River Arts brings Community Arts to many local events for free family friendly activities creating magic wands, party hats, decorated sunglasses, rubber duckies and more. In 2025 we sponsored over 30 such events.
COLLAGE PROJECT
The Collage Project offers the opportunity for everyone, regardless of skill or experience, to make art. In 2025 we distributed over 300 kits to the community. The Senior Center, Library, Give Back Tuesday and ArtWalk are just a few ways we have shared the kits.
WINDOWS PROJECT
Three times each year River Arts decorates downtown Guerneville windows with seasonal art to enliven & beautify Main Street. This is done without charge to any interested restaurant, shop or gallery.
MURALS & BEAUTIFICATION
River Arts has begun producing beautiful murals around town and plans to continue doing so in 2026.
POND FARM ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE
River Arts coordinates with Stewards of the Coast & Redwoods in selecting their artists-in-residence and bringing their presentations to the community.
DOWNTOWN RECONSTRUCTION
River Arts provided input to CalTrans to ensure that the remaking of downtown Guerneville in 2025 would result in more greenery, wider sidewalks and flagpole sleeves in the sidewalks.
FUTURE PROJECTS
Community Radio Station
In 2024 River Arts' obtained a license for a new community radio station which will likely be centered in Monte Rio.
Creative Youth
River Arts plans to work with the Boys and Girls Club to create after-school programs in art, theater and music starting in 2026.
Guerneville Entrance
River Arts is a key participant with the Chamber of Commerce to design a new "gateway" to Guerneville, a competitive process which may include a mural, other artwork, an educational native plant garden and more.
Music in the Galleries
River Arts plans to resume this occasional music series in 2026 which brings unique performances to Guerneville art galleries.
New Park
River Arts is a core member of committee convened by Supervisor Lynda Hopkins to design, fund and implement a new community park in Guerneville.
