“Did You Know?” •kitchen edition•

There is a commercial grade dish washer in the Uncky Daylo Kids Campus? Verleen, cook at the daycare, said that this one piece of equipment saves at least an hour of time, which gives her extra time to prepare the meals for the children. And one example of how it benefits the children is that breakfast can be served until 8:30 now instead of 8:00 which benefits the children that get dropped off after 8:00.

Ashley Hinson, Congresswoman (R-IA-02) toured the Uncky Daylo Kids Campus this afternoon. M&W Inc. Board member Jan Onnen shared historical and current activities taking place in the building.
The Uncky Daylo Kid Campus building is truly a success story, with children enjoying and thriving in a safe updated facility and there’s room for expansion to address waiting lists. Jan stressed to the congresswoman that as we come to the close of this worthy project, we couldn’t be prouder, but we still must raise $150,000 to pay off all the costs associated with the renovation. Alumnus Daryl Connell ‘60, is offering a 2:1 generous challenge that M&W wants to take advantage of by the end of the year. So, the board is asking everyone to take on the “Meet the Match” challenge and consider naming a room or sending a donation. Spartans love a challenge! Success and striving for the best are second nature to those who have walked the halls of GCHS.

15 bathrooms were added to the building. A preschool teacher commented that there are a lot less accidents with the students now that they have bathrooms in each preschool classroom. This equates to more quality time spent instructing the children!
