It's sad to see that GCLE will not have a program this year.
With that being said, GCMFC as of now is still playing. If you are interested in keeping your kids active in sports programs, you should reach out to the Midget League for availability.

In light of all the COVID sports updates, we're just doing our part to help keep the community informed of what's going on.
Nothing was posted up until now to make sure that no misinformation was spread.

We wanted to make you all aware of some recent changes with the GCLE organization. As of last evening, during their Board meeting (which was not announced/posted on their page), the following events occurred:

*Head football coaches for the Senior and Junior teams, Dave Say and Shane Salmon, have resigned from their positions on the Board and as Head Coaches for the GCLE. Both Dave and Shane have accepted coaching positions with the GCMFC 2020 season. GCMFC is part of the Shenango Valley Football League, which consists of teams within Mercer County. The high school football team plays against some of these schools.

* Other current board members decided to resign immediately after lastnight's meeting due to allegations made by other board members during discussions. These false accusations by some current board members were targeting prior coaching staff.

* An open meeting between the two boards (GCLE and GCMFC) along with the public was discussed. While nothing has been scheduled at this time, this meeting should take place sooner rather than later. Discussions need to be had regarding how each team would like to proceed and what an attainable goal could be.

Part of the purpose of this page is to keep total transparency with the community regarding the things that are taking place within the leagues. Our community deserves to be heard.

More information will follow.

Since there has been nothing but positive reasons why this merge should happen, does anyone have any concerns?

(This is not intended to bash on one team or the other or individuals)

This page was established in an effort to get more people informed with the current situation of our community youth football teams.

There are 2 teams operating in our small town at the moment. One team plays with the Shenango Valley Football League and the other team plays with the ABC League. There have been numerous discussions with both teams regarding merging into one team.

This initiative would:

1. Set the kids up to build a stronger team, who will ultimately be playing together starting in middle school and continuing through high school.

2. Get all the parents on the same page and provided with as much information as possible.

3. To build a stronger community through supporting the most important people in our lives, our children, who are our future.

The efforts made by both sides thus far have been greatly appreciated but we still have some barriers prohibiting the combination of this happening.

This will hopefully provide a forum for adult discussion from both sides and help resolve this situation.
