Safe to say yesterday’s session of "Bridging the Gap" hit different! 💯 We brought together our youth, community leaders, and local law enforcement for a real, honest, no-filter session focused on breaking down barriers, building trust, and driving real change.
Huge love and appreciation to Sheriff Hartley and his Investigators, Grenada County Chief Douglas, and Mrs. Ophelia Topps for dropping invaluable wisdom on knowing our Constitutional Rights—your presence and transparency meant everything to us!

Thank you to every young leader and community member who pulled up, spoke their truth, and helped prove that bridging the gap starts with active listening and ends with intentional action. 💛💙

This past week, our President, Ekeyvion Noel, and Membership Chair, Makiya Shipp, were invited by the Southern Poverty Law Center to attend their “Art Is Activism” event in Montgomery, Alabama.

The event began with an exploration of the different forms of art and how art can be defined, interpreted, and understood from various perspectives. They then visited the Legacy Museum, where they were able to see how art has been used to represent and communicate experiences throughout the Civil Rights Movement and Reconstruction Era.

Experiencing these historical events through art provided a deeper understanding of how art can preserve history, tell powerful stories, and bring awareness to important social issues. This experience reinforced the importance of using creative expression as a tool for education, reflection, and activism.
