Village Rising Update
We’re hitting pause on our upcoming event. The interest just hasn’t been there, and honestly, this kind of connection deserves more than a half-full room.

Village Rising was created to bring real support into parents’ lives, not just online but face-to-face. That kind of community only works when people show up for each other.

So here’s the plan: we’ll reschedule once we’ve got 5 parents and 5 villagers committed. That way, when it happens, it’s meaningful for everyone involved.

If you’ve been watching from the sidelines, now’s the time to jump in. This village doesn’t build itself.

Hey friends 💚

A little behind-the-scenes update on Village Rising — we’ve finalized our volunteer screening, background check policy, code of conduct, and all the foundational stuff to keep this safe, solid, and full of heart.

We’re building something different here: a support network that’s safe, real, second-chance friendly, and built on showing up. For moms. For families. For each other.

✨ If you want to become a Villager (someone who helps with kids, meals, errands, or just offers support), there’s a small fee to cover the required background check. Payment can be made via Venmo.

✨ If you’re a parent or caregiver who needs support, we’ll be offering an affordable monthly membership to match you with screened Villagers and help when you need it most. Think: emergency childcare, errands, meals, or just someone to sit with you when it’s all too much.

This mission is personal — it was born from my own story as a mom doing too much with too little support. And yes, this is also how I’m working toward sustainable income for my family while helping others do the same.

Hey friends! It’s been a little while since I posted, but I promise Village Rising is still moving forward behind the scenes. There’s a lot of planning, organizing, and late-night note scribbling happening over here!

That said…. I’m still looking for big-hearted people willing to donate their time to help others. Whether it’s offering a ride, watching a little one for an hour, or just being a consistent presence in someone’s life.. this whole thing only works with people who get it. The ones who know how much a helping hand can mean.

A little pause, not a goodbye.

After reflecting on the signups and feedback, we’ve decided to postpone our first Village Rising event. Truthfully, I may have launched from the heart before the world was quite ready—but that doesn’t mean the vision isn’t needed.

This pause isn’t the end. It’s a chance to regroup, to listen more deeply, and to build something even stronger for the families and villagers who need it most.

If you believed in this with me—thank you. Your support means everything. We’re still rising, just with a little more patience and a lot more intention.

CALLING ALL VILLAGERS… AND THOSE WHO NEED ONE.

This space was made for two kinds of people:
1. Folks who are the support—the “I’ll bring you soup” and “I’ve got an extra car seat” types.
2. Folks who need the support—the “I’m drowning but smiling” and “I just need one damn adult to show up” types.
(And yes, sometimes we’re both. Welcome to the club.)

Hey Village! 🌟

I know it’s been a minute since our last post, and I want to be completely transparent with you all. Launching Village Rising was a huge step, and I jumped in a bit before everything was perfect. But that’s what this community is about — growing together, learning together, and supporting each other even when it’s not all smooth sailing.

We’re here to build something real — a true support network for parents and caregivers who need a village. That means sometimes there are hiccups, pauses, and moments of regrouping. Thank you for sticking with us and believing in the vision. 💚

The past few days have been a blur of trying to hold it all together—work, motherhood, meals, meltdowns, and just… survival mode. If you’ve ever felt like you’re running on empty but still expected to pour into everyone else, you’re not alone.

That’s why Village Rising exists.
Because no one should have to do this alone. Not me. Not you.

I’m still building this little movement between the chaos. It’s messy. It’s slow. But it’s full of heart.

So tell me—
What’s one thing you’ve wished someone would step in and do for you when you were at your limit?
