Greenwood TNR Greenwood TNR is a volunteer group dedicated to humanely addressing the needs of stray and feral cats in Greenwood, Arkansas, and surrounding areas.

We operate independently of city government. We are a 501(c)3 non profit charity. At Greenwood TNR and Cat Rescue, our mission is to humanely address the needs of stray and feral cats in our community. Through our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program, we work to minimize stray and feral cat populations by sterilizing, vaccinating, and ear-tipping feral cats for easy identification. In addition, we identify friendly, socialized cats, providing them with the necessary veterinary care to prepare them for adoption into loving homes. While we are committed to supporting unowned and feral cats, we are not a shelter and do not cover veterinary expenses for individually owned pets. We also lack resources to care for sick or injured cats but can help provide an outlet to help. Our efforts focus on creating a healthier and more sustainable environment for both cats and the communities they inhabit. DONATE
We are a volunteer-led organization that operates without any public funding from the city, state, or county. Our work is entirely supported by donations. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference.

UPDATE: ADOPTION PENDING!

๐Ÿธ Tadpole is still waiting for his forever family! ๐Ÿ’š

This little striped guy may have grown his legs, but he's still waiting for someone to take him home. ๐Ÿฅบ

Tadpole is 4 months old, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchippedโ€”and FULL of personality!

Heโ€™s a professional cuddle bug, a tactical string hunter, a bed sleeper, and an occasional ankle attacker. ๐Ÿ˜‚ He loves other cats, does well with cat-friendly dogs, and has even passed the toddler test!

All Tadpole needs now is his personโ€”someone with an open lap, an extra pillow, and room in their heart for one very special little amphibious feline. ๐Ÿธโค๏ธ

๐Ÿ“ Located in Greenwood, AR, but willing to swim a little farther to find his forever home!

Ready to meet Tadpole? Send us a message or complete our adoption application:

๐Ÿ“‹ https://greenwoodtnr.org/adoption-application/

Please help us share Tadpole. His forever family is out there somewhere! ๐Ÿพ

๐Ÿพ Two More Girls Have Joined the No More Litters Club! ๐Ÿ’•โœ‚๏ธ

These two young females were just reaching the age where they could have their very first litter. But we stopped that in its tracks! ๐Ÿฉท

Now they can grow up and live their lives without the burden of pregnancy, birth, and raising kittens. Just two more girls who get to simply be cats. ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿ’•

That makes 6 cats from this colony who have now joined the No More Litters Club! ๐ŸŽ‰ There are just 2 elusive cats left at this location. We havenโ€™t been able to determine whether they are male or female yetโ€”theyโ€™re very good at keeping their distance! ๐Ÿ˜น But weโ€™ll keep working to get them safely trapped and fixed, too.

โœจ 6 down, 2 to go! โœจ

Every spay and neuter means fewer kittens being born into an already overwhelming cycle and gives these community cats a chance at a healthier life. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’š

Todayโ€™s Hot Dog Fundraiser was a well-oiled hot dog selling machine โ€” and we have these wonderful people to thank for that! โค๏ธ

Hailee, Ashley, Mia, Kendrick, Madelyn, Chrissy, Ellen & Tony โ€” you were all organized, hardworking, dependable, and such great workers! You jumped right in, worked together, and kept everything running smoothly from start to finish.

We truly couldnโ€™t have done it without each of you. Thank you for giving your time and helping Greenwood TNR help more community cats! ๐Ÿฑโค๏ธ

โค๏ธ Sweetie Update! โค๏ธ
We finally have an answer โ€” Sweetie did indeed have bobcat fever (cytauxzoonosis). Her lab results confirmed it.

After everything this little girl has been through, it is absolutely wonderful to say that Sweetie is doing GREAT! She is energetic, eating well, playing, and is now on her last day of medications
It was a scary couple of weeks with those high fevers and several trips back and forth for veterinary and emergency care. But Sweetie fought hard, and she had an amazing team of people fighting right alongside her.

A huge THANK YOU to Greenwood Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Garner, Dr. Singer, and their wonderful staff for caring for Sweetie.

And another enormous thank you to Fort Smith Animal Emergency Clinic and their awesome veterinarians and staff for being there when Sweetie needed emergency care and overnight monitoring. โค๏ธ

Because of this incredible group of veterinary professionals, Sweetie has recovered! โค๏ธ

She will be ready for her new home very soon, once we're completely finished with her recovery. And I think it's safe to say this sweet little girl is going to make someone a VERY special companion.

From a skinny little community cat who was supposed to be returned to her colonyโ€ฆ to a happy, energetic girl who is gaining her weight back and getting closer to being ready for her forever home. โค๏ธ๐Ÿพ
Sweetie, you sure have come a long way. ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ

๐Ÿพ Sweetie Update! ๐Ÿพ

Sweetie has had a VERY good day! โค๏ธ
After all the scary fevers and trips back and forth to the vet and ER, today she has been cool as a cucumber โ€” NO FEVER! ๐ŸŽ‰ And even better, she is starting to eat well and seems to be feeling so much better.

We are still waiting on some lab results, so we're not completely out of the woods yet, but we are definitely celebrating these good days and taking them as a very encouraging sign. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Once this sweet girl is fully recovered, she will be ready for adoption very soon! โค๏ธ She was originally going back to her colony, but when we discovered just how sweet and affectionate she is, we knew she deserved a chance at a loving indoor home.
For now, we're letting her rest, recover, eat lots of good food, and enjoy being spoiled. ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿˆโ€

Keep those good thoughts coming for Sweetie โ€” we're hoping this is the beginning of her happily-ever-after! ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿพ
