Greenwood TNR and Cat Rescue is a volunteer group our mission is dedicated to humanely addressing the needs of stray and feral cats in Greenwood, AR, and nearby areas. At Greenwood TNR and Cat Rescue, our mission is to humanely address the needs of stray and feral cats in our community. Through our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program, we work to minimize stray and feral cat populations by sterilizing

, vaccinating, and ear-tipping feral cats for easy identification. In addition, we identify friendly, socialized cats, providing them with the necessary veterinary care to prepare them for adoption into loving homes. While we are committed to supporting unowned and feral cats, we are not a shelter and do not cover veterinary expenses for individually owned pets. We also lack resources to care for sick or injured cats but can help provide an outlet to help. Our efforts focus on creating a healthier and more sustainable environment for both cats and the communities they inhabit. DONATE

We recently shared the exciting news that Phoenix found his forever family, and we wanted to give everyone a little update.

Seeing Phoenix in his new home has absolutely warmed our hearts. He has settled in beautifully and is already showing just how much love he has to give. One of the sweetest parts of his story is that he now has a little girl to grow up with. Watching the two of them together is everything we could have hoped for and more.

There is something so special about seeing a child and a kitten begin a lifelong friendship. From playtime and cuddles to all the adventures ahead, these two are starting a journey together that will create memories for years to come.

For those who followed Phoenix's journey from the beginning, you'll be happy to know that he is thriving. He looks content, relaxed, and completely at home with his new family. Seeing him so loved and so settled reminds us why these happy endings mean so much.

Thank you again to Shelby and her family for giving Phoenix the forever home he deserves. Knowing he is cherished, safe, and surrounded by love makes our hearts so full.

Weโ€™ve been asked to help with a large colony of ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“+ ๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐š๐ญ ๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐ฌ๐ญ ๐Ÿ’ ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ž ๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ค๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐ž๐ง๐ฌ. The situation is overwhelming, and the need is urgent.

We do not take in kittens, so our focus is on stopping the cycle at the sourceโ€”spay and neuter so no more litters are born into this situation. An independent rescuer is currently pulling the friendly older kittens, getting them vetted, and working to place them into adoptive homes.

But the core issue remains: ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐œ๐ฒ๐œ๐ฅ๐ž ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ฉ.

The minimum cost per cat is $35, which covers:
โ€ข Spay/neuter
โ€ข Rabies vaccination

If there is other medical needs, the cost goes up.

With 15+ adults (and likely more as we continue assessing), plus the ripple effect of multiple litters, the cost adds up quicklyโ€”but every single surgery prevents suffering and future litters.

This is one of those colonies where action now prevents a much larger crisis later.

Some stories are just meant to have a happy ending.

Nancy has followed Tippy Toes' journey and watched this sweet little girl grow, heal, and blossom. Somewhere along the way, she completely fell in love with her!

Tippy Toes has gone home with her forever person.

Tippy Toes may have started her journey as a tiny kitten in need, but today she begins a new chapter filled with love, safety, cozy naps, and a human who already adored her long before they met.

While it's always bittersweet to say goodbye, our hearts are full knowing that Tippy Toes found exactly where she belongs.

Thank you, Nancy, for opening your heart and home to this special little girl. We couldn't have imagined a better ending for Tippy Toes' story.

Heโ€™s convinced that every bowl of food requires his personal inspection. Whether he's zooming around with his siblings or seeking attention, Diesel brings nonstop laughs and a big personality wherever he goes.

Phoenix is a true little fighter with the sweetest spirit. As a tiny kitten, he lost one eye due to a severe infection, and his remaining eye has limited vision. Despite this, you would never know it by watching him play, explore, and keep up with his brothers. He doesn't let anything slow him down and lives life to the fullest every day.

๐Ÿฉต Kitten Update ๐Ÿฉต

Today the kittens got their next-to-last sulfur dip treatment for ringworm! Thankfully, only one kitten ended up contracting it, but we have been treating all of them to make sure everyone stays healthy and protected. We are honestly amazed and grateful that it did not spread to the whole group.

These babies have been through so much during their time with us โ€” medications, treatments, eye issues, surgeries, and all the extra care along the way โ€” but they have handled it like little champions. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ

Next week is another big milestone: one more vaccination, a vet check to make sure everyone is cleared and healthy, and follow-up checks on sweet Phoenix and Tippy Toesโ€™ eyes.

Thenโ€ฆ it will finally be time for their next adventures. โค๏ธ๐Ÿก
