The NLC Class of 2029P had an East Coast summer for their adventure trip! From their class leaders, John and Allison:
“Our trip began in Boston, where we attended and toured The Mother Church and Longyear Museum and explored the Freedom Trail, which gave the teens a chance to navigate the city together. We also spent two days serving on farms on the North Shore, where we planted garden beds, cleaned chicken coops, and helped support efforts to provide fresh food to local families. In Maine, we did some trail maintenance, hiked, biked, and swam in Acadia National Park, and explored the Maine coast on an overnight sea kayaking trip. In New Hampshire, we stayed at an Airbnb, where we cooked meals together and caught up on classwork and laundry.
Overall, we had lots of opportunities to practice patience, flexibility, selflessness, and teamwork together. We finished the trip with a bang by visiting the Christian Science church in Concord on the way to Cape Cod for a sailing trip, pool party, and festive fireworks celebrating America’s 250th.
More than anything, the trip gave us the opportunity to see what happens when we make room for God in everything we do.”
The class had a terrific time, and here are some highlights!
