Just wanted to thank everyone again that came together to make this project an incredible success
I’m still in awe of seeing this community rally around our healthcare workers and first responders 💙

We still have bins of cut up fabric, rolls of fabric and some elastic and buttons
There is also a box of hundred of kerchiefs/bandanas ( generously donated by a Laker ) - these are ideal for a location that requires masks for entry and for people who forgot their masks - if anyone knows a business/ people that can use them, please take them

Moving forward we would like everyone to come get whatever they can use - whatever is left after Sunday, I will be donating back to some of our mask sewers and crafters in Greenwood Lake

The bins are located in the back seat of the Honda Civic parked in the parking lot across from the Waterstone Inn ( the marina parking lot )
I’m selling the car so I won’t be able to store the bins in there after I sell it

We are still hoping there will come a time when we can reunite our sewers and those who received masks - as a thank you to everyone for their tireless and selfless efforts during this time ♥️😷

We are not asking for donations at this time and encouraging people to give any sewn masks to the food pantry, a senior citizen, a neighbor, friend, etc

But for my fellow knitters ( and crocheters ) this is a link for a pattern to make “ear savers” - there are donated buttons in the bins at the Waterstone Inn ( across the street at our marina in the gazebo )

If any knitters are looking to “help out” or need to keep themselves busy at home, we can also distribute them for you, by dropping off at the other bins at the Waterstone Inn ( socially distancing by pulling into parking lot and putting items into the bins )

I’ve made a few myself and made some adjustments and included a pic of my ‘prototype’ - post here with any recommendations

This Knitted Ear Saver will help ease the discomfort for medical personnel who wear surgical masks all day long. Fasten each mask strap to a button on the Knitted Ear Saver at the back of the head and give your ears a break!

There’s plenty of material there - fabric, elastic buttons etc. there’s even some sewing bobbins if people need them and also lots of cut up fabric
If anyone needs more supplies. The bins are located across the street from the Waterstone inn in the gazebo. Please be mindful only one person at a time and keep bins tidy. Ty and stay safe !

UPDATE: Friday , Good evening :)

Please note the Food Pantry has a need for masks. SO if anyone is still making masks please consider dropping off to them 9-11 Am Saturday AM or contact Pat McCleary Nolan for info.

We will NOT be collecting or picking up any more completed masks at this time. Again please donate to above or to any individual you feel would benefit. A senior neighbor , a neighbor who's an essential healthcares worker, or has compromised health.

The Bins with extra fabric and already cut patterns , and limited elastic will be now located across the street from the Waterstone INN m in the small Gazebo. Please use social distancing if someone is already there do not enter the Gazebo and please keep the bins tidy.

As this Crisis continues to evolve our goal is to keep everyone safe.

we are continuing to make the headbands with the buttons so again if you are out and about and see the fabric headbands grab what you can. You can PM the page for drop off instructions.

Again we want to thank everyone for the last two weeks for the almost 1200 masks that were made and distributed to our healthcare workers and first responders.
