Patriot Day (observed on September 11) honors the memory of the innocent lives lost in the terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001.

The goal of the GFWC Signature Program: Domestic and Sexual Violence Awareness and Prevention is to increase awareness of and help prevent the widespread occurrence of domestic and sexual violence in communities across the nation.

At our September club meeting, our members, and Elizabeth Hartley Renneker , our GFWCSC Upstate District President, signed our individual pledge forms to Stand with Survivors. We each pledged to be a voice for change and a light for hope, when a survivor confides they have experienced domestic or sexual violence. We will STAND UP, SPEAK UP, AND SHOW UP for the silenced, the brave, and for those still on their journey to healing. Together, we raise awareness, offer support, and move closer to a world without violence.
