Faith has had a LOT of people swipe right… but unfortunately, nobody’s shown up for the date.

Okay, but seriously…

Faith has gotten a lot of attention online. So many people have shared her, commented on her videos, and said how badly they want to see her find a home.

But this week alone, Faith has had several planned meet-and-greets… and they’ve been no-shows.

And that’s heartbreaking, because while everyone online is talking about Faith…

Faith is still sitting at the shelter waiting.

Here’s her story:

Faith is a 4 year old terrier mix. She was part of a high sp*ed chase and her owner crashed the car, sending her into the windshield. She was miraculously okay.

This was months ago. Now, Faith is struggling in the shelter & breaking down from kennel stress but at home?

Oh my gosh, this girl is an angel!!!

If you’re looking for a dog that’s potty trained, walks easy on leash, rides well in car, loves toys, is gentle with treats and loves everyone she meets, Faith is your girl! She is not cat safe but has tested well with dogs at the shelter.

Her adoption fee is half off- only $68!

The shelter opens for adoptions at 1 PM, and with the holiday weekend coming up, I’m asking you - if you are genuinely serious about adopting Faith, please go meet her.

Faith is waiting for someone to make her their forever date.

You can meet this perfect girl by visiting Pitt County Animal Services Monday-Friday from 1:00-4:30. Adoption fees include up-to-date vaccines, microchip, and spay.

Please call the shelter ASAP to let them know if you are interested in meeting this special girl! 252-902-1725

Are you looking for an older dog who just wants to chill & be your best buddy? Then, I must introduce you to Jax!

Jax is a Great Pyrenees x Anatolian Mix. He is estimated to be 8 years old, weighs around 100 pounds and is heartworm negative.

I had the honor of taking Jax on his first Doggy Day Out. This was his first time out of the shelter in severals months and he was SUCH a good boy. Here’s what I learned about him today:

He loves car rides. He loads easily & lays down to enjoy the ride.

He walks like a perfect gentleman on leash. Despite his size, he is very easy to handle. He is non-reactive to cars & dogs on his walks.

He’s potty trained. Each time he needed to go, he would walk to the door to let me know he wanted to go out. He also keeps a clean kennel at the shelter.

He knows sit. He relaxes. He’s older, but he still has a little s***k in him.

He LOVES love. I was sitting next to him in the floor and he rolled over for scratches. He is also fine with his feet being touched, so he may do well with nail trims. My dogs do not, so this is always a win for me!

He will bark to let you know someone’s at the door. It’s a loud enough bark it would keep unwanted visitors away, but wags his tail when they enter. He doesn’t seem to meet a stranger. Men, women, kids- Jax just loves everyone.

He quickly became a staff and volunteer favorite at the shelter and it’s easy to see why.

He is the epitome of a Gentle Giant.

My mom said he reminded her of our dog Bobo. That is the highest compliment. Bobo was the first dog our family rescued and he set the bar high.

Jax has been patiently waiting at the shelter for far too long. Adoptions are slow. The shelter is overcrowded. It’s no place for a sweet older boy like Jax to live.

Everyone who knows him is rooting for him to find a home of his own.

You can meet Jax by visiting Pitt County Animal Shelter Monday-Friday from 1:00-4:30. Adoption fees include up-to-date vaccines, microchip, and neuter.

If you have any questions about Jax, please call the shelter directly 252-902-1725

Luke had a very important job today. He was the official taste tester for The Farmer’s Dog. Judging by the clean bowl, I’d say he gave it 5 stars ⭐️

We also scored a special discount for you. Visit the link in our comments to get 50% off!

Ask & you shall receive. I sadly cannot post any real-time Star + Moon content. Star left us two years ago. Here’s one of my favorite videos of them from soon after they were reunited. 💫 🌕

‼️URGENT‼️

We need to get eyes on Prince. Please share + help him find his special person.

Almost 200 days. That’s how long Prince has been waiting for someone to choose him.

Prince is one of the shelter’s longest residents, but he hasn’t let the wait steal his spirit. He still greets everyone with a happy tail and his goofy, lovable personality, holding onto hope that someone will finally see him and give him the chance he deserves.

Prince is a volunteer and staff favorite, and it’s easy to see why. He’s the sweetest boy who lights up when you walk up to his kennel and gets SO excited when he realizes it’s time to go for a walk.

He walks well on leash and is a higher-energy guy who would make an amazing adventure buddy for someone who loves to walk, run, hike, or simply stay active.

And Prince has already shown that he can thrive outside of the shelter.

He went into a foster-to-adopt home, but unfortunately, breed restrictions and landlord issues meant his adopters couldn’t keep him. They had nothing but wonderful things to say about him and shared that he was an amazing house guest who settled into home life beautifully.

We would love nothing more than for Prince to get that chance again.

Prince is estimated to be around 3 years old and 48 pounds. He is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines, and will be microchipped and neutered as part of his adoption. He prefers to be the king of his castle & will need to be in a home without other dogs & cats.

His adoption fee is currently HALF PRICE - just $67.50.

If you think Prince could be your guy, PLEASE call the shelter ASAP at 252-902-1725 and ask to meet him.

They’re open Monday–Friday, 1:00–4:00 PM.

Almost 200 days is far too long for any dog to wait for a home. Please share this video. Tag someone who needs a Prince in their life. Let’s help this boy finally get out of the shelter and into the home he’s been waiting for. ❤️

Six years ago, my mom, her little dog, Molly, and I loaded up the car with a couple of crates and headed west to Rutherford County.

We were going to pick up two pigs from a hoarding case. As most of you know already, when I arrived that day and saw the condition of the pigs and where they were being held, I made the snap decision to leave with as many as would fit in my crates.

And so, our six little black pigs came to be - Patrick, Rocky, Captain, Chase, Brittany & Betty.

Until then, I had never seen starved & sick pigs. They were terrified of us and it took months to break down those walls and earn their trust. But little by little, they learned that we were safe, life was good and they were loved. It took Patrick more than 3 years, but now, he loves us too.

It’s always such a win to get to see this transformation in animals. I have learned so much from them. Forgiveness. Patience. Kindness.

Now, they’re the spoiled, sweet pigs that you’ve come to know. Thank you for being here and loving them too.

Meet Humphrey! He’s a 5 year old mixed breed male available for adoption at Pitt County Animal Shelter

A few things I learned about Humphrey on our Doggy Day Out:

He’s an A+ car rider; he sits down almost immediately and chills.

He’s high energy but also settles quickly once he gets his wiggles out. He loves walking next to trees/structures, so he would be an amazing hiking/adventure buddy.

He is highly treat-motivated & a quick learner.

I also learned he’s heartworm positive. We just went through this with our dog Luke last year so I’m happy to share our experience! I do not want this to hinder his adoption!! Luke was in Stage 3 Heart Failure last March, and he was just cleared medically- heartworm negative & his heart failure was healed.

Overall, he is such an amazing boy and will make the best buddy for whoever adopts him!
