LIVE THIS WEEKEND!!!

Election season is here and this is one conversation every South Carolina voter should hear.

Ask yourself:
• Do you know how to check if you're registered to vote?
• What's the voter registration deadline?
• Where can you find unbiased information about candidates?
• What if you, or someone you know, has a disability and can't stand in line to vote?

Those questions and more are answered in our next episode, “GOTV. Your Vote, Your Voice Matters.” Our host Michelle is joined by Mikayla Mangle, Upstate Organizer for the ACLU South Carolina, to discuss voting rights, how to become an informed voter and the resources available to help every eligible South Carolinian cast a ballot.

Please share this post and help make sure every voter has the information they need before Election Day.

ICE is expanding.

Although this Wired Magazine article doesn't include any locations in the Upstate, it does identify planned new or expanded ICE offices in Columbia and Charleston, SC, along with numerous other cities across the country. It also lists the street address for each planned location.

This expansion could have significant impacts on communities across the U.S. Staying informed is the first step.

Please read the article, share it with others and help raise awareness about what's happening. Also check out our YouTube channel, "Stand Up Upstate" episode featuring Brandy with the Greenville Rapid Response Network: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMr-bw5z3sI She shares clear practical steps you can take to support our immigrant neighbors.

Tune in as host Anna talks with Emily Wyche, Senior Attorney with the Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC), about the legal and environmental issues surrounding the project and what residents and SELC are doing now.
