Our Story
TNRFCI of NC (TNRFCI) is a Nonprofit Organization. TNRFCI is dedicated to stabilize and reduce the feral and stray cat population. TNRFCI promotes TNR (trap-neuter-return) of Feral Cats and responsible management of Community Cat Colonies. A TNR Feral Cat = Community Cat - Sterilized - no reproduction - Vaccinated - no spread of disease - Managed - Anti-nuisance community habitats TNRFCI is committed to alleviating feral cat problems and managing these TNR'ed Community Cats in an ongoing basis to reduce feral cat numbers and eliminate breeding/nuisance issues - We promote TNR (Trap - Neuter/Spay/Vaccinate - Return) of Feral Cats and responsible management of TNR'ed Community Cats ending the reproduction cycle of and work to alleviate problems and nuisances associated with feral cats so they can live peaceful, unobtrusive lives in communities. - Where TNR is not a feasible option for a business or community... * such as ecologically sensitive or unhealthy areas; * in areas where demolition or development is impending; * where cats are being subjected to harm or abuse; or, * where despite best efforts, nuisance complaints cannot be satisfactorily mediated and feral cats are over-populated ...we utilize adoption and relocation of sterilized and vaccinated feral cats removed from that environment. Aside from our Mission Promoting TNR and Management... - With so many city and county shelters overwhelmed and at "full-capacity" with unwanted animals (especially small rural communities), we are also trying to help get low-cost spay/neuter clinics, facility needs for animal care and adoption, and find those extra-special homes for homeless and abandoned animals that normally have little or no chance of adoption.
