Meet our convention speakers: Amy Bearer is a Christian, wife, and mother. She has graduated two daughters and currently homeschools her three sons. Amy has hosted a Charlotte Mason book club in her home for nine years and sits on the board of directors for a small Charlotte Mason fine arts co-op in Northeast Texas. In addition to teaching her children, she is a clinical herbalist, is Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition®, and runs an online holistic wellness practice. Amy enjoys reading, hiking, and gardening.

I pulled out a few of our all time family favorites. I can remember so many things while reading these books. Where we were, which parts made us all laugh and cry, randomly finding relations between the books... Do you have family favorites? What are they?

Meet our convention speakers: Janna Graham is a Christian, wife, and homeschooling mom of two, living in north Texas. Charlotte Mason has been an enormous influence in many areas of her personal and teaching life which ignites her desire to encourage moms in their homeschooling journeys. In addition to teaching her own kids, Janna has homeschooled other children in her home and in co-ops. Some of her favorite subjects to teach in co-op are: chemistry, Shakespeare, and artist study. Her hobbies include learning daily alongside her kids, raising chickens, CM book clubs, mild gardening, reading, and spending time with her family.

One of our classes this year will cover homeschooling through crisis.
The best thing about homeschooling is doing life and learning with your family. We don't always consider the challenges that life throws our way. Challenges present themselves in a variety of ways, but knowing you're not alone can help. Learning ways to reach out to people for help and remembering to trust in the Lord can make a difference. If you're struggling, it's easy to shut yourself off from the world, but I've found there are people willing to help if you give them the opportunity. 🫂

We consider keeping a yard and garden part of handicrafts. Making things grow is no easy task, but can be very beautiful and rewarding. We're also planning some needle felting and photography this year. Our convention handicrafts this year will be watercolor, crochet, and clay sculpting. What handicrafts are you planning to do?

Meet our convention speakers: Brandy Vencel is the wife of Josiah and mother of four children. She has been homeschooling using Charlotte Mason's philosophy for the past 17 years. She currently has two graduates and two high schoolers. Brandy is the host of the popular Scholé Sisters podcast, owner of the Charlotte Mason Think Tank and the Afterthoughts Blog, and she serves on the Auxiliary Board of AmblesideOnline and the Board of Directors for Providence Classical Academy.

Last year was the first year I bought the Artist study package from A Humble Place. I must say, I really enjoyed it. The quality surpassed my expectations. You get a very nice booklet with several pages of information about the artist, high quality prints on card stock, and information about each print. I've been homeschooling and doing Artist study for a long time now. I've researched artists to find books to read or make my own biography, and printed out prints to share with my kids, but some years you just need an easier option. I just wanted to take a minute and share this option. No matter how you decide to present the material, don't pass up Artist study. It's brought so much light to our Homeschool and to me personally.
