Finally had enough donations as well as much needed time to create nearly 2 dozen candles this weekend! Learning more as I go, but I enjoyed playing with dyes for a variety of color options as well as learn to use a heat gun to make the candles look more polished. A labor of love as it took over 40 candles with leftover wax and over 7 hours to create what you see here.

A HUGE heartfelt thank you to The Space GBG and friends of The Space who donated so much of leftover candle wax the last 3 months. 🫶🏽

This specific batch of candles will be sold at the Pittsburgh Bereavement Doulas annual Light and Unite on Sunday, 15. October for International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Proceeds from the sales will go directly back to the organization that aided us during the still birth of our daughter nearly 5 years ago. The money raised will help continue the organization’s efforts to support families on the worst day of their lives.

Please consider lighting a candle in your time zone at 7pm this day to honor all those babies gone too soon and their families who love & miss them so very much. ✨🕯️👼🏽

After 2 years of nonstop training and working hard during every moment of free time to receive my certifications, I finally have some time to take on projects I’ve been day dreaming about for months. The first is recycling used candle wax to create new ones. Each batch of candles will be completely unique based on what donations I have to work with.

A Nugget of Hope () candles are in honor of our daughter born still 4 years ago. Candles provided our family a great deal of comfort, light and hope during a very dark time. They continue to provide a way to honor our daughter when we are missing her the most. The light provides a soft and gentle hug to the heart every time it is lit on her memorial shelf.

Each candle will be $12 in honor of the 12th month of the year of our daughters’ stillbirth. Part of the proceeds will go to the Pittsburgh Bereavement Doulas () to aid other local families through what is most likely the worst day of their lives. It is because of the work of the doulas our family has a sense of community, support and hope all these years later. We are forever grateful for their services.

Please contact us directly if you are interested in purchasing a candle for yourself or for someone grieving the loss of a loved one. If you have a collection of used candles, we also would be happy to take them. Purchases and donations can also be made physically at The Space GBG (). 🫶🏽🕯✨

Our candles are made from recycled wax of used candles donated by friends, family & the community. Every candle is unique and every batch of candles made will be based on the donations received. Wax is sorted by color and like scents. A small crystal heart, star or moon is placed in the bottom as a token of gratitude and hope to hold on to after the candle has been burned.

Our story begins with a most wanted and beautiful 2nd pregnancy in the fall of 2018. A baby we called our little “Nugget” until we could find out the gender. When we went to our mid pregnancy ultrasound to find out if Nugget was a he or she, instead we found out that there was no heart beat. On December 10th, 2018 their baby girl was born into the world still.

Our son struggled the most with the loss at just 3 and half years old. He would talk to the baby every day. “But how will I talk to her now?” Not knowing what to do, I lit a candle. “When we are missing the baby, we will light a candle. We can talk to the candle and the light of the candle can help let the baby know we are talking to her.”

A Nugget of Hope was born.
