Crosby Scholars Iredell County

Crosby Scholars Iredell County Crosby Scholars of Iredell County is a FREE college and career readiness program for public school students in grades 6–12.

Since 2015, we have helped thousands of students plan, prepare, and confidently take their next step after high school. Crosby Scholars of Iredell County was founded in 2015. It is our belief that every student who has the desire to go to college should have the opportunity to attend. We want to help students and parents complete college admissions and financial aid successfully so that the doors

of opportunity remain open to all students. The program provides free resources and training to prepare students personally, academically and financially. Students are equipped for successful college enrollment while following a post-secondary plan that fits with their goals, interests, and ambitions. Students also volunteer in the community, agree to remain drug-free and obey school rules and regulations

Program applications are available each year to students in grades 6-10. Crosby Scholars alumni even have the opportunity for scholarships during their college career.

Our "Workshop Wednesday" summer event series aims to demystify the college application process and prepare our scholars for success after high school, whether that includes post-secondary enrollment, entry into the workforce, or any other pathway.

Yesterday's session featured a deep dive into the SAT Test, with tips and tricks to reduce anxiety and boost confidence on test day! Similar test-prep sessions can cost families hundreds of dollars, but Crosby Scholars were able to access this content at NO COST to the students! We are grateful for all of our financial supporters who help us remove barriers by offering programming like this to our scholars! It was an awesome session, and we are excited for the sessions still to come this summer.

During this hands-on, high-energy session, students learned what entrepreneurship really is, heard from a real local business owner, and discovered how simple ideas can turn into real solutions. Thanks to the Small Business Center at Mitchell Community College for their help putting today's session together!
