We’re deeply grateful to be recognized by the Triad Business Journal as a recipient of the 2026 Leaders in Diversity Award in the Nonprofits & Government Agencies category. Congrats to the other amazing changemakers honored at todays event!

This honor belongs to the many staff, volunteers, members, donors and community partners who help make the Y a place of belonging.

“There’s a lot of history wrapped up in this recognition for us. Our Hayes-Taylor branch has roots in the Civil Rights movement, and that history reminds us every day why this work matters,” says Rhonda Anderson, President & CEO of YMCA of Greensboro.

“We don’t do it for awards. We do it because everybody, no matter their story, deserves a place to walk in and feel like they belong. If this recognition shines a light on that effort, I’m grateful, but the real credit goes to our staff and volunteers who show up for our community every single day.”

Thank you to everyone who helps us strengthen community by creating spaces where people feel welcomed, valued and connected. Because of you, we can continue building a better us for all.

Even small moments of courage can lead to meaningful growth. With the right support and encouragement, kids begin to believe in themselves, take risks, and carry that confidence into every part of their lives. 🎊

Because of you, more children are gaining the confidence and skills to stay safe in and around water. 💙

Today we kicked off our YMCA SWiMPACT collaboration with POOLCORP and Greensboro Parks and Recreation, and the start of Safety Around Water summer swim lessons.

Every child deserves the chance to learn how to swim and build life-saving skills.

Together, we’re making that possible.
