Dear Friends,
We are thrilled to share some wonderful news! The NC Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DSDHH) has generously donated funds to support communication access for our upcoming DeafBlind retreat at Dogwood on Lake Norman September 11-14, 2025. This means we can do something we’ve never been able to do before: offer a thank-you stipend to our amazing volunteer licensed interpreters and Support Service Providers (SSPs).
Our retreat has always been built on the spirit of community and volunteerism. This donation gives us a unique opportunity to honor and recognize the time, talent, and energy you bring to making the retreat accessible for everyone. While the stipend amount is still being finalized, we are excited to share this commitment to giving back to those who serve.
Even more good news: thanks to this donation, the $50 registration fee is now waived for volunteer licensed interpreters and Support Service Providers. If you have already paid your registration fee, you will be fully reimbursed.
We are so grateful to each of you who make the retreat possible year after year. If you’ve been considering volunteering, this is the perfect time to join us—we’d love to have you!
With gratitude and excitement,
NCDBA Dogwood DeafBlind Retreat Leadership Team
