Piedmont Chapter of AMBUCS

Piedmont Chapter of AMBUCS Inspiring mobility and independence in the Piedmont region of North Carolina

Since 1969, Piedmont Chapter of AMBUCS has been working to make the High Point/Greensboro area of North Carolina more accessible for more people. From the beginning, they've fostered a close relationship with High Point's Parks & Recreation Department, hosting annual cookouts at City Lake Park and helping for many years with Camp Ann. The chapter also works with the local Special Olympics, and raises money for the Scholarships for Therapists program.

What a fantastic day to ride instead of walk! 🥵 A huge thank you to Karen Riggs and Karen Dell for finding homes for these Amtryke they’re life changing. We’re absolutely thrilled for this young man, who happens to be a big fan of leaves, and we couldn’t be happier that he’s able to enjoy his ride today and all summer long!

We’re proud to be participating in the Amtryke National Wish List Photo Challenge — and we need YOUR help to make a difference!

Our photo is live and every donation = a vote for our chapter.
But more importantly, every dollar helps provide adaptive tricycles to riders still waiting on the National Wish List.

Let’s show the Spirit of AMBUCS and help move more riders from the wish list to the finish line!

Poppy had trouble riding a bike with training wheels because of her balance and apraxia. She now has fun around the neighborhood with her pup in tow.

Poppy's Amtryke is part of the reCycle program; an initiative that encourages Amtryke riders to donate their outgrown trykes to other kids.
