Welcome Back, Cougar Cub Families! 🐾💙💛

The Cougar Cubs Preschool PFA is excited to invite all new and returning families to our first meeting of the school year!

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents, learn about the PFA, hear about exciting events and activities planned for the year, and discover ways to get involved in supporting our students, teachers, and school community.

Whether you can volunteer often or just want to stay informed, we'd love to have you join us. We look forward to welcoming you and kicking off a fantastic school year together!

Getting to create something that welcomed families while watching my daughter experience Meet the Teacher Night made this project extra special. Shout out to my PFA besties for helping me get TWO of these bad boys installed tonight. Here’s to a wonderful school year! 🌈📚 💛

🎉 Help us welcome Kim Dawson to a NEW ROLE in the GC Family!

👩🏻‍🏫 Mrs. Dawson will be the Director of Preschool & Early Learning at GCCSC Cougar Cubs Preschool.

🫶🏼 Get to know Kim . . . .

🔷Hometown: I grew up in Roseville, IL and graduated from Monmouth-Roseville High School.
🟡College: Undergrad: Western Illinois University Grad: University of Indianapolis
🔷Family: I reside in Greenfield with my husband, Tyler, and my two boys, Ryland and Bryer.
I enjoy raising and showing cattle with my family and local exhibitors.
I love being involved in the community and county fair system by working with young children on their projects and directing the Hancock County Fair Mini Princess Pageant.
During my free time, I love to be outside boating, hiking, or spending time with family and friends.
I also enjoy attending and supporting GC sporting events!
🟡Favorite subject in school: Psychology/Adolescent Development
🔷Experience working with kids: I began my career at Greenfield-Central in 2018 and have been a part of Cougar Cubs Preschool for the last 7 years.
During my time at Cougar Cubs Preschool I have directed the Preschool Special Olympics & Unified Champions Event.
I was a Special Education Preschool Teacher for the last 5 years.
I have also coached both basketball and volleyball at GC!
🟡Why do you want to work in schools?: I am passionate about Cougar Cubs Preschool because having served the program in multiple roles over the past several years, I have gained a unique perspective on the strengths, traditions, and opportunities within this program. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the needs of our students, families, and staff while reinforcing her belief that meaningful improvement is built through strong relationships, collaborative leadership, and continuous reflection.

Just a reminder! Tonight is the last Summer Playdate before heading back to school! Come for some playtime, songs, interactions and a story. You will can also meet our new Director of the program. See you all tonight!
