Our Greendale Leo Club has been honored to support Street Angels Milwaukee Outreach throughout the year — collecting clothing, making blessing bags, preparing lunches, and crafting scarves and mittens to help bring warmth and dignity to those experiencing homelessness.

Now, our Leos are taking their commitment one step further! On November 8th, they’ll be participating in the Walk a Mile in Someone Else’s Shoes event — an interactive experience that helps participants understand the real-life challenges faced by individuals without stable housing. Along with walking, our teens are also joining the fundraising campaign to support the Street Angels Season of Hope Campaign.

We’re so proud of these young leaders for showing compassion in action — and we’d love your help cheering them on or contributing to their fundraising efforts!

Dear friends and family,

On November 8, 2025, our Leo Club will be participating in a charity walk to raise awareness and funding to support people experiencing unsheltered homelessness. We will Walk a Mile in Someone Else’s Shoes and face some of the challenges that come along with having no home. Along the walk we will learn what it is like to experience real barriers that people face when trying to access food, shelter, and safety.

We have set our own fundraising goal and we are asking for your support to help us reach that goal. Every dollar raised goes directly to Street Angels Inc. to provide mobile outreach, showers, meals, advocacy, and critical connections to other resources for our unsheltered neighbors.

Check out our fundraising page and 👉 please consider making a donation to help us reach our goal of $500.

The Greendale Leo Club and Greendale Lions Club will be making blessing bags for the homeless at our January meeting. We are seeking donations so that we can make as many bags as possible.

Blessing Bags are a great way to serve those in our community. They contain packaged snacks, hygiene items, new socks, and a note of encouragement. Our family likes to keep these bags in our car and hand them out to people in need.

Our goal is to make 200 blessing bags at our January event. If you are able to donate items or make a monetary donation, we would be so grateful for the support.

December Donuts and Good Deeds - Today we made mittens for the homeless using donated fleece. We put our hand sewing skills to the test and infused love into each stitch!

Donuts and Good Deeds is held the 3rd Saturday of each month at Field Workshop in Greendale from 10:00-11:30 am. It is free to attend and open to the public. It's a great way to check out the Greendale Leo Club and do some good at the same time!

Our Leo Club is open to all students in grades 6-12. We are a community-based club, with members who attend various schools as well as homeschool students. Come check us out!

Today’s Donuts and Good Deeds event was all about sending love and warmth to those who don’t have a roof over their heads this winter. Our team made 32 fleece scarves, each infused with loving intentions, which will be shared with our friends at Street Angels Milwaukee Outreach.

Special thanks to Greendale Lions Club President Chad Simonis, and Lion Terry Barrington for joining us today and helping us serve those in need.

And Thank You to all who donated fleece for this project! As always, we welcome donations of fleece fabric and fleece blankets for this and other projects. Donations can be dropped off at Field Workshop, 5686 Broad Street, Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 10am -7 pm.
