W**D TREATMENT UPDATE: The Cedar Lake Improvement Board's first 2026 lake herbicide treatment for aquatic invasive species will take place on Monday, June 29, weather permitting. The rain date Tuesday, June 30.

Based on the board’s June 2 whole lake survey, only sites north of the causeway on the west side of Cedar Lake need to be treated.

The total area to be treated is less than 20 acres. The applications are targeting Eurasian water milfoil in nine locations as shown on the treatment map.

Cedar Lake riparian property owners were mailed the state mandated pre-treatment notification letter for the 2026 aquatic nuisance control season earlier this month.

Another Reason to Love Cedar Lake! This loon was "diving" near the island Monday early evening. It was amazing to watch and how long it would stay under water to add to its mystique.

The annual Boater Safety Class is 8-4:00 on Saturday, June 13th. It will be offered at the Barton City Fire Station. A pizza lunch will be proved by the Alcona-Iosco Cedar Lake Association. Everyone is encouraged to attend however those under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required by visiting:

On behalf of the Alcona-Iosco Cedar Lake Association (AICLA), in collaboration with the Lakewood Shores POA, I am pleased to invite you to a Summer Meet & Greet on June 14th at the Lakewood Shores Beach Club (7701 E. Cedar Lake Drive, Oscoda, MI 48750).
Members from both associations will be present to share information about upcoming activities, initiatives to improve the health of Cedar Lake, and ways to make the most of your summer here.
