After nine months of patiently waiting, we are so happy to share that Owen has finally found his forever home! 🥳

Following some unsuccessful adoption attempts, we realized the importance of enlisting professional help for Owen to become the best version of himself. That's when our amazing friend Stephanie, Owen’s foster and trainer, came into the picture. As Owen’s training unfolded with Stephanie, we got to see the new and improved Owen!

The Kornetzke family was initially drawn to Owen's sweet and adorable appearance, and we felt hopeful as they were committed to learning how to advocate for him. Over the course of a month, they visited Stephanie’s facility multiple times, spending time with Owen and gaining valuable insights. The transition to his new home exceeded our expectations, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for Owen!

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Stephanie for everything you have done for Owen and for all the dogs in your care. This day wouldn’t have been possible without you! Your dedication is truly appreciated, and we are beyond grateful for all your efforts. We also want to express our gratitude to Owen’s new family for recognizing his worth and providing him with the loving home he has always deserved. He is incredibly fortunate to have had you all by his side during this journey.

Meet Mikey! 🐾✨

Some of you may remember this cute little face that came to us as an owner surrender from the beginning of this year. Sadly, his adopter passed away after loving him for 4 months and he is again looking for a new home to call his own.

Mikey is a 3-year-old, 8 pound mixed breed pup with a big personality packed into a little body. This energetic and curious guy is always ready for his next adventure. Whether that’s a game of fetch, a walk around the neighborhood, or a squeaky-toy extravaganza. (Fair warning: squeaky toys are his absolute obsession!)

When Mikey first meets new people, he can be a bit timid and may let out a few barks to announce himself, but don’t worry, he warms up quickly, especially if treats are involved. Once he’s comfortable, he turns into a loyal little shadow who loves being near his person, usually sitting right next to you rather than on top of you.

Mikey is crate trained (a treat helps!) and settles in nicely, though he may whine briefly before relaxing. His foster mom reports that he has been great with his house training and does best with a consistent schedule and by following another dog outside for potty time. He’s treat-motivated, knows the command “no,” and has just started learning “sit”, he’s eager to learn more with continued training.

He does well with other dogs and would truly thrive with a canine companion to play with and learn from. Mikey’s energy level is on the higher side, and he’s still learning how to “turn off,” but with routine, enrichment, and an active home, he continues to make great progress.

One of Mikey’s most charming quirks? He makes hilarious little gremlin-like noises when he wants something, and he’s not shy about sitting in front of you and barking to demand playtime. Because he can be a bit nippy during play, Mikey is looking for a home without young children.

Mikey’s ideal home is with someone who is home often, enjoys daily walks, appreciates a playful and opinionated little dog, and doesn’t mind having a devoted (and slightly bossy) companion by their side.

Luna Marie is the ultimate lover and cuddler—she’ll definitely be your shadow, following you wherever you go! With her happy demeanor, Luna adores everyone she meets, from new friends to furry companions. She thrives on social interaction and will brighten your days with her warm, loving personality.

Luna’s favorite activities include playing with other dogs and having fun with her favorite toys. She is house trained and crate trained, and she knows basic commands like "sit" and "come."

When it comes to new people, Luna can't wait to say hello! She loves meeting new friends and is especially friendly with other dogs, always eager to engage in playtime. Her energy level is medium to high, making her a great match for an active family. Her ideal home would be with a family that has kids who are respectful of dogs, or a home with another medium to high-energy dog to play with.

Luna does have a couple of quirks; when she gets bored, she tends to counter surf or chew on shoes and clothing, so it’s important to keep her engaged with plenty of toys and bones.

It’s official! 🎉 Rusty had been in his new home for almost two weeks now and he is there to stay. Paul and Judy have opened up their home to this very special little guy and in return, he has filled their lives with snuggles and happiness that only a companion like him can bring.

A special thanks goes out to his Texas and Wisconsin fosters that worked so diligently with him to get him to where he is today! After living outside in a crate for almost a year and a half, he has truly found a second chance at a life he has always deserved.
