Want a Low Cost, High Value Recipe that's also Easy to Make?

Have you the like for Potatoes? Ground Beef? Corn, Peas, Carrots, such as the Can of Mixed Veggies?

First cook enough ground beef thoroughly in a frying pan, enough that will be able to cover the bottom of a pie or casserole dish, as the first layer of the "pie". It's Sheppard's Pie.

Next, either steam some veggies, then top the beef, layer with the veggies, or you can simply drain a can of veggies, and place them on top of the beef layer.

Next cook, and mash some cubed and either peeled or not peeled fresh potatoes, or you can make instant potatoes, make enough to go in a layer on top of the ground beef and veggies layers. Dependent on how much potatoes you want in your dish. I like a moderate amount, because i love potatoes.

Layers should be cooked, ground beef on bottom, first layer, veggies on second layer, mashed potatoes top layer, and remember to cook each one first, then layer. Finally, you'll want to top the potatoes (top layer) with shredded cheddar sharp or medium cheddar cheese, and then place it in the oven.

The oven step isn't really required, but I do it to melt the cheese, and kind of finalize the dish. Each layer (beef, veggies, potatoes) should be seasoned how you wish, while you're making each one. I just season with tiny bit of low sodium salt, and cracker corn pepper, but any pepper will work. As well as any kind of salt you wish. Another salt I like is fine Pink Himalayan Salt.

Finally, once cheese is melted, or after you've layered everything, and making sure the whole Sheppard's Pie is warm/kind of hot, please enjoy. I also like to have Red Hot hot sauce for the dinner, but I don't put it on the whole thing. I scoop some dinner onto my plate, then add some hot sauce. It's just so good.

So, I hope this meal meets your needs for dinner. I bought 1lb of lean ground beef today, for the week, at $9.99 plus tax. or no tax if you're on SNAP. I am. 93/7% beef. I plan on making Sheppard's Pie this week with my beef. So, thought I'd share this great and nutritious meal idea with y'all.

Maybe next time I post this I'll have remembered to take a photo. I haven't had this in a while, so no photo today, but this is one of my favorites. Right after Tacos.
