Vision:
PAWS seeks a time when there are no homeless companion animals in south central Pennsylvania. Strategies:
•Facilitating the spaying and neutering of owned and unowned animals.
•Rescuing, fostering, and finding permanent homes for stray, abused, abandoned and otherwise homeless animals.
•Collaboration with other humane organizations.
•Raising awareness of the plight of homeless animals a

nd ways in which individuals can reduce overpopulation. PAWS aspires to best practices established by well-respected organizations such as: Best Friends, Alley Cat Allies, Neighborhood Cats, Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project, and Best Friends' No More Homeless Pets movement, and understanding what the No Kill Movement is all about - and how it relates to PAWS which subscribes to the No Kill Philosophy.

Who enjoyed their breakfast as much as these kittens did?
This is what teaching young kittens how to eat looks like. It's messy and frustrating for both kitten and foster parent.
These kittens were forced to try and survive on their own after their mom and one sibling were killed by a predator. Sadly, this is the reality for the majority of kittens born outside. Only about 20%-25% of kittens survive.
This kitten crew now has a much better chance since they are safe with an experienced foster home. They're warm, fed, and receiving medical care.
Spay/neuter is the only way to stop this scenario from happening on repeat. Over and over.
Preventing kittens being born starts with pets and outside cats being spay/neutered.

It's important to establish a regular feeding pattern when planning to trap. This young mama cat has adjusted easily to eating near an unset trap. When its time for trapping she will be well adjusted to the trap. See you at the clinic soon mama!

Sure but did you know approximately 75% to 80% of kittens born outside do not survive to adulthood.
Thankfully, this crew is being cared for and will be spay/neutered at our next clinic. Momma and kittens are headed for our TNR to Foster program.

Our Yard Sale Under the Tent Made $8,298.
Thank you for all your donations and your purchases.
The tent definitely saved us yesterday in the rain. We were cozy, dry and making deals.
We will be able to help foster cats with medical needs and subsidize TNR appointments with these funds. Truly a community effort.
We expect the dollar amount to grow a bit more because we will be selling some things online and still have some sales to complete.
