Today we honor the life and enduring legacy of the activist, writer, revolutionary, and now Ancestor, Assata Shakur. 🕊️

Born JoAnne Deborah Byron in Queens, New York, she became a powerful voice in the fight for racial justice, joining the Black Panther Party and later the Black Liberation Army. Despite her exile in Cuba, her words and resistance shaped generations of movements.

May her spirit live on in every struggle for freedom. 🕊️
