The Grand Rapids chapter of AFWA, formed in 1943, is one of the oldest chapters in the nation. The first chapter was chartered in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance (formerly American Society of Women Accountants or ASWA) was formed in 1938 to increase the opportunities for women in all fields of accounting and finance. Members of the Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance and their companies benefit from practical resources and benefit programs that strengthen their professional growth. n's Alliance members tap into an extensive knowledge base of accounting and finance professionals with technical expertise to provide solutions for the most complex issues. Our members communicate both virtually and in-person through online discussion forums, national and regional conferences and chapter meetings. Join us at one of our annual favorites! This scholarship fundraiser includes a barre class instructed by followed by networking, cocktails, appetizers, and a silent auction! All proceeds from this event will benefit our local annual scholarships. All are welcome, bring a friend!

This event will be outdoors on the lawn of the beautiful . Tickets on sale in our bio!

We are happy to announce that Barre at the Bar has been rescheduled to Thursday, September 12th from 6-8pm. Grab a friend and join us for one of our favorite events of the year! Tickets are on sale at the link in our bio!

Due to the threat of severe weather this evening, the Barre at the Bar event tonight is cancelled. AFWA plans to reschedule this event and will send out updates once details are finalized. If you have already purchased a ticket for this event, you will be reimbursed via the payment method used to purchase your ticket less the Eventbrite fee. Please reach out with any questions.

We're excited to announce another Funds for Friends opportunity at The Score this month! After great feedback and a successful turnout at our last event - we are happy to be bringing this back again. There is no cost to attend, just head on out to The Score on Wednesday March 29th and show this flyer to your server when they bring your bill. 10% of your spend will automatically go towards our scholarship fund!

There is no cost to attend, but we do ask that you register so we can give the team at The Score an approximate headcount.

The AFWA-GR group will also have the Game Room reserved from 5pm-7pm the day of the event for anyone interested in dining with other participants, but it is not required.
