That’s a wrap on six weeks of ! 🎬 During their final week, students continued editing their documentary pieces and creating their own social media content while expanding their post-production skills through color grading, audio mixing, and graphics. Local creatives Jennifer Pascua, Kendra Victoria, and Alexis Stark joined students to introduce them to the many career paths available to storytellers. Impact Producer Tamarra Campbell also shared insights on film distribution. Most importantly, we took time to celebrate everything these young filmmakers accomplished, from learning professional production skills to documenting the stories of leaders making an impact across our community. We can’t wait to share their finished work! ✨

🎬 Here’s what our students have been working on! Students have continued building their filmmaking skills through hands-on workshops and real-world production experience. They learned the professional editing process from Randy Strobl of Wrinkle Creative and Detroit PBS, explored the logistics of filming in public spaces with Evette Pittman and Samie Garrett from the City of Grand Rapids Office of Special Events, and captured additional b-roll at Grandville Avenue Arts & Humanities, STEM Greenhouse and Kids' Food Basket. To wrap up the week, Zach Liniewski of WGVU Public Media joined the program to mentor students as they refined their edits and brought their stories to life. 🎥
