Registration is now open for our Summer Speech Services Program.

We are proud to offer this program for our third summer and look forward to supporting students and families again this year.

The program includes 12 therapy sessions and 2 parent sessions over 6 weeks and is designed to help students maintain and build communication skills during the summer.

To be considered, children must meet all of the following criteria:
1)have a current IEP with speech services, 2) be enrolled in Medicaid, attend Grand Rapids Public Schools, Wyoming Public Schools, or Godwin Heights Public Schools, and 3) be entering Pre-K through 5th grade.

Applications are open through May 27. Space is limited per district, and placement is not guaranteed.

Program dates: June 15 through August 6

Students who are eligible are students at Grand Rapids Public Schools Prek-5th grade, have an IEP with speech services, and are enrolled in Medicaid.

Attention Grand Rapids Public School Students!

We're thrilled to introduce our "IEP Summer Speech Intensive" program aimed at supporting students with communication needs in Grand Rapids!

Sessions run from June 10 to August 8. Best of all, there are no costs to families, thanks to generous funding support! To be eligible, students must have an IEP with speech and language services, enrolled in Medicaid, and a student at GRPS.

Early Intervention is a game changer - but we are STILL fighting the stigma that comes with intervention and a possible diagnosis.

If we notice our kids are developing on a different timeframe than most kids - we should jump in and support them before the gap is HUGE. Waiting 18 months for intervention (when it’s optional, I realize many people are on waiting lists and seeing posts like these can be frustrating) is often NOT in kids’ best interest.

Kids shouldn’t have to struggle for months and months before they get help or support - whenever possible, it’s best to see a professional and get an evaluation to know if your child needs the support. It’s also important to note that while most kids do “catch up” - some kids will need continued support and access to AAC early on is HUGE for them!

For those waiting due to waitlists or low availability of services in your area- I got you. I share all kinds of tips here to help YOU support your child, and also can recommend some online courses if you need suggestions!

PS: this is based on analytic language milestones - it’s common for gestalt language learners to develop skills differently, and so the numbers here may not be quite as relevant (often GLPs are great at repeating or have lots of words in longer scripts) - so keep this in mind ❤️
