Slow Food West Michigan

Slow Food West Michigan Slow Food West Michigan supports those who contribute to a good, clean, and a fair food system, both for-profit and not-for-profit.

We support those who contribute to a good, clean, and fair food system, both for-profit and not-for-profit. We do this through several means:

We plan educational and convivial events of eating, drinking, and socializing, where we learn to reclaim and evangelize the joys of the convivial table, and educate our taste. We recognize and promote food producers, artisans, purveyors, chefs and restaurat

eurs who contribute meaningfully to the quality, authenticity, and sustainability of the food system that feeds West Michigan. We support other like-minded organizations working towards a good, clean, and fair food system by promoting, volunteering and donating.

New year, new possibilities, new opportunities, new changes...welcome to Slow Food West Michigan 4.0.

As the complex healthcare needs of my parents have increased I am no longer able to sustain my board leadership role. Sarah LaFleur has graciously agreed to transition from Vice President to the President role of the chapter. Kara Kaminiski has transitioned from her Event Planning Director role to Vice President. Kay Yoder continues as our chapter's Accountant. Please reach out to them with questions and updates regarding 2022 chapter activities and volunteer opportunities.

I look forward to continuing my support of Slow Food's mission in other ways over time.

So excited!!

WE'RE BRINGING GROVE BACK!
We are thrilled to announce what we all had hoped would happen: We are officially bringing Grove back to 919 Cherry Street!

For the past 16 months, we've been working diligently to improve both as people and as a company, and that included asking ourselves many difficult questions. How can we be better as individuals? How can we improve as an organization? What the hell are we going to do with 919 Cherry Street?

As it turns out, we answered all three questions by taking many intelligent risks, making mistakes, then doing it all over again—ultimately learning from our failures to result in this very exciting decision.

When we relaunch Grove, it will look very different than what you remember. We are transforming the space into a modern, clean, open dining room. It will be a unique concept that I truly believe is the natural progression of Grove that builds on its first chapter while taking dining to a new level. The food will be artful, tasteful and careful with a menu based on taste balance from natural ingredients, plant-based options, sustainably raised proteins and, of course, our continued relationships with all our local farms. We have dedicated ourselves to being leaders in our industry and this evolved Grove concept will introduce Cherry Street to a truly sustainable way of dining.

More information will come this summer. We hope to re-open the doors of Grove to you all by Fall of 2021.

Thank you all for your patronage. We are looking forward to serving you again at Grove!
