A Huge Thank You for a Monumental Cleanup Effort! 🌍💪
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the amazing Stewards, Borculo Construction, Watch Us Go Boating - Muskegon, and Grand Haven Elks Lodge # 1200 for your time, support, and hard work during our latest Adopt A Highway cleanup. Your selfless dedication, community spirit, and partnership are exactly what make meaningful change possible.
On Saturday, September 6th, through the excellent MDOT Adopt A Highway program, we made substantial progress along our section of U.S. 31 (Apple Ave. to Holton Rd.). Together, we removed a staggering 900 lbs of trash - 45 full bags—bringing our total haul to over 2,000 lbs (a metric ton) and 101 bags collected from just over 2 miles of roadway (outside lane only). 💥
Here at The Forgotten Stewardship, we're proud of the impact—but sobered by the reality. The condition of this stretch of highway is worse than we've seen in years. Honestly, I haven’t seen this much roadside debris since my time in Kuwait. That’s not a comparison we should ever have to make.
We’re not here to judge—just to call on everyone: Please take responsibility for your spaces. Dispose of your waste properly. Encourage your communities to care. Earth gives us so much; keeping her clean is the least we can do in return.
Let’s keep showing up. Let’s keep cleaning up.
Together, we can make stewardship unforgettable. 🌿
