Sharing this sad news from the Tillinger Family

We adopted Smokey from GLWR in September 2019. Smokey had the best life with us, and for us, she was a gift from God. We are heartbroken at her passing. She was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease and gall bladder disease a little over 2 years ago. I began cooking or her, and I cooked for Smokey every other day for over 2 years. She had two bouts of cancer this past year. This past month, she was diagnosed with bone cancer. Smokey never complained. She was and is such a beautiful angel. I'm heartbroken. Thank you for helping us find this wonderful Angel on Earth, Smokey-Girl.

Love your Mama Elaine 🐾❤️🌈🥰

👀 AT THIS LOVIE!

Meet Ollie - 6-year-old long-haired silver Weimaraner with a big heart, a playful spirit, and a love for both adventure and snuggles. He’s ready to find a home that can keep up with his energy and appreciate all his lovable features. Ollie is being fostered in Kenosha Wisconsin by awesome foster parents Trisha & Darren ❤️🐾

ps - they say of the 25 foster dogs they’ve had - he has the top personality & temperment!!!

Ollie absolutely loves to run and play—both physically and mentally—so he’ll thrive with an active person or family who can give him plenty of enrichment and exercise. One of his sweetest habits is self-soothing with his beloved purple blanket (which will come with him!).

Ollie is friendly with people (he’s especially fond of men) and gets along well with other dogs and even cats. He’s also a total cuddle bug who loves to snuggle up after playtime.

Ollie’s ideal home:

Active and able to provide plenty of physical and mental exercise
Committed to continuing his training (he’s smart and eager!)
Understanding of his anxiety and supportive of his needs
Ready for a loving, goofy, and affectionate companion

If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving dog who will keep you active and then curl up for cuddles, Ollie might just be your perfect match!

Hey Tribe

We need to find a great home for Ranger. He’s an Uber loving sweetheart - bully/Weim mix currently being fostered in Mentor Ohio. Good with kids & other dogs - food motivated - doesn’t like to share!

Here are some details and the link to his bio & application to adopt.

Please share this post and ask your friends & family if you think they may be a good fit.

We need your help finding a home for this boy… He’s waited a long time and deserves one!

Hey guys! It’s Ranger here! I am a 3-4 year-old bully/weimaraner mixed boy looking for my Furever Family that will give me a safe spot to lay my head and wag my tail!

My foster mom says that all I need to do is put my “dating” profile up to find my “fur-fect match”! I can’t wait to see who wants to meet me! I have to tell my own story because I was found doing some freestyle running along a highway when I was picked up by the dog warden. I hid in the corner of my
cage, so scared, until the good people of Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue picked me up and got me to my foster family. I am an affectionate & loving boy who has so much to offer - I just need a chance!

I’m living in Mentor Ohio - close to Cleveland. Please take a look at my full bio through the link below.

Fingers crossed I find my new family soon - PS… good with kids 10+ because of the knock down factor.

Congratulations to Kevin and Lori in Ohio. They just left with their new family member Krookie. He’s got a great new family and they have a great new companion! And Bella, of course, had to get in at least one photo. Happy Tails, Krookie!

Losing your senior Weim is hard enough, but it’s even worse when your other senior dog is grieving too.

GLWR heard that Linda & Peter had to say goodbye to their beloved Jenni on Sunday. ❤️🐾🌈

Bailey keeps looking for his sister… they were together for 11 wonderful years.

Your comments will help Linda & Peter as they learn to live without sweet Jenni in their home & hearts. 💞

Hey guys! It’s Ranger here! I am a 3-4 year-old boy looking for my Furever Family that will give me a safe spot to lay my head and wag my tail! My foster mom says that all I need to do is put my “dating” profile up on GLWR to find my “fur-fect match”! I can’t wait to see who wants to meet me! I have to tell my own story because I was found mid-winter doing some freestyle running along a highway when I was picked up by the dog warden. I hid in the corner of my cage, so scared, until the good people of GLWR picked me up and got me to my foster family. They immediately fell in love with me (hey, what’s not to love?!) and I quickly became one of the pack with 3 other GLWR Weim rescue dogs. They had been there for years so I just followed their lead. I love people and other dogs, but they are older and really set in their ways so we don’t get to play much. Mom says I have to list my “loves” and “don’t care fors” so that people will know the real me! So here we go!

Loves:
● Snuggles - I will even jump up on your lap, lean in, and give you a “hug”! I just can’t get close enough to my hoomans!
● Kisses - I will kiss anyone and everyone - mom says I need to be a bit more exclusive!
● Food - I will eat anything! (unfortunately mom and dad have to watch my fondness for sticks and leaves)
● Crate - I need an airline crate because the darker walls make me feel safer with the “denning” effect.
● Hoomans - I just love people, and I think everyone loves me too!
● Dogs - I like dogs too, but I need safe introductions to dogs who may not be comfortable with my exuberant personality!
● Sleep - I sleep when you sleep! I like to sleep with my hoomans because they make me feel so safe - I even like to snuggle under the blankets and curl up next to them!
● Play - I love to play and do fun things with anyone!
● Love - I can’t give enough love and I am the poster dog for rescue - I know I have been rescued and I do not ever want to go back to my old life again!

Don’t Care For:
● Storms - even just rain. I get anxious and my family often finds me hiding behind the couch.
● Staying on all 4 paws - unfortunately my mom says I have the “knock-down” factor because I get so excited to see my family and I like to jump on them. We are working on this, so I need continued training. I would do best with people who are stable on their feet and do regular exercise because I need that too!
● Staying home alone - I do ok in my airline crate for 8-9 hours (a workday), but I can pretty much chew out of wire ones and will shred any type of bedding due to my anxiety. Because I am a counter surfer, I will do better crated or in a “dog-proofed” room.

My foster family would love to keep me if they didn’t have 3 dogs already because they say I am one of the best fosters they have ever had out of 25+. Might you be my Furever Home Match?
