The story of a Windmill Garden
Emil and Stella Gehrke were folk artists and created hundreds of fascinating windmills and whirligigs. They displayed their creations on their property in Grand Coulee, WA. After their deaths, the large collections was broken up - some sold, some to family members others to art installations and the remaining found a permanent home at the Gehrke Windmill Garden in North Dam Park, Grand Coulee, WA.
Today, the garden is maintained by a small group of dedicated volunteers and the Coulee Area Park and Recreation District (CAPRD).
