💜💛 GRANBURY SHOWED UP FOR OUR KIDS!

We are excited to share that Granbury City Council has passed the vote for upgrades to lighting and other infrastructure at our city athletic facilities! 🎉

This is a big win for Granbury youth sports — and a great example of what can happen when our community shows up and speaks up.

Thank you to every parent, coach, volunteer and community member who attended, reached out and made your voice heard.

And a very special thank you to Jacob Williams, Justin Stroud and Michael Fleming for speaking on behalf of Granbury youth sports families. 👏

Our programs are growing. Our community is growing. And our kids deserve facilities that can grow alongside them.

This is just the beginning.

Thank you to Granbury City Council for listening and investing in our community’s future — and thank YOU, Granbury, for showing up for our kids. 💜💛

One Mission. One Future.

GRANBURY SPORTS FAMILIES — THIS ONE MATTERS.

On Tuesday, September 1 at 6:00 PM, Granbury City Council will hear details and consider funding options for a major lighting upgrade at Granbury City Park and the Moore Street athletic complexes.

The proposal includes replacing aging lighting and poles, adding lights to currently unlit soccer fields, improving lighting at baseball and softball fields, and expanding lighting to additional areas throughout the complexes.

Those improvements matter.

But we believe showing up for this meeting matters even more.

⚾🥎⚽🏈🏀🏐📣

Youth sports in Granbury are growing.

Our community is changing. Young families are moving here. Our programs are growing. Kids are playing multiple sports, and families are asking for more opportunities for their children to participate.

And with that growth comes a very real need for our community’s athletic infrastructure to grow with us.

This meeting may be about lights—but the conversation is bigger than lights.

It’s about demonstrating that Granbury families care deeply about the future of youth athletics.

It’s about safer and more usable facilities.

It’s about creating enough field and practice space to support growing programs.

It’s about investing in places where our kids can play, compete, build friendships and grow.

And perhaps most importantly, it’s about making sure the families raising the next generation of Granbury have a voice in conversations about our community’s future.

We need baseball families there.

We need softball families there.

We need soccer families there.

And we’d love to see football, cheer, basketball, volleyball and other youth sports families standing alongside them.

Because while this particular project may directly impact some sports more than others, better youth athletic facilities benefit our entire community—and this can be the beginning of a much larger conversation about what Granbury’s growing youth sports community needs next.

📅 Tuesday, September 1
⏰ 6:00 PM
📍 Granbury City Hall — 116 W. Bridge St.

Wear your team colors. Bring your sports families. Fill the room.

Let’s respectfully show our city leaders just how many families are invested in the future of youth sports in Granbury.

Our kids are here.

Our programs are growing.

And it’s time to make sure our facilities grow with them. 💜💛

BE HEARD. BUILD THEIR FUTURE.

One Mission. One Future.

Let’s go youth sports community!

💡 Lights might just be the beginning of many more upgrades and new projects in the future to support our Granbury youth. Let your voices be heard!

📣 GAA FAMILIES — WE NEED YOU TO SHOW UP! ⚾🥎

Granbury City Council will be discussing a major proposed lighting upgrade for Granbury City Park and the Moore Street athletic complexes, and we are encouraging all available GAA families to attend.

📅 Tuesday, September 1
⏰ 6:00 PM
📍 Granbury City Hall

This proposal could have a huge impact on our athletes and families, including replacing aging lights on our baseball and softball fields, adding lighting to currently unlit soccer fields, and improving lighting around batting cages, warmup areas, the skate park, and throughout the complexes.

For GAA, improved lighting could mean more opportunities for evening practices, games, and activities while providing safer, more efficient facilities for our athletes for years to come.

🟣🟡This is our opportunity to show City Council how important these facilities are to Granbury families.

If you are available, please make plans to attend. Whether you have a child playing this season, have played with GAA in the past, coach, volunteer, or simply support youth sports in Granbury — your presence matters.

Let’s fill the room and show up for the kids who use these fields today and the generations who will use them next.

⚾🥎 GAA families, we hope to see you September 1! 💜💛

📚🏈 As Granbury kids head back to the classroom, we thought this was worth sharing…

The lessons our kids learn on the field, court and sidelines don’t stay there. They walk right into the classroom with them.

Research has repeatedly found that students who participate in sports often demonstrate positive academic outcomes—including stronger academic achievement, test performance and graduation rates.

And when you think about what sports ask of our kids every week, maybe that’s not so surprising.

⏰ Time Management
Homework still has to get done when practice starts at 6:00.

🎯 Goal Setting
Improvement doesn’t happen overnight—in sports OR in the classroom.

💪 Resilience
Strike out. Miss the shot. Lose the game. Get back up and try again.

👂 Coachability
Listen. Accept feedback. Make an adjustment. Try again. Sound familiar, teachers? 😉

🤝 Teamwork & Communication
Learning to work with different personalities toward a common goal is a skill they’ll use for the rest of their lives.

⭐ Accountability
Your teammates are counting on you to show up prepared—and so are your classmates and teachers.

Maybe we’re not just raising better athletes.

Maybe we’re building better students, better teammates, better leaders and, eventually, better adults.

So as another school year begins, here’s to the kids carrying backpacks AND equipment bags. 🎒⚾🥎🏈🏀🏐📣

Keep working hard in both places.

The skills you’re building now will take you far beyond the scoreboard. 💜💛

Stronger Students. Stronger Community.

💜💛 Something exciting is happening in Granbury youth sports.

Across our local programs, fall registrations reached record-breaking numbers—and even more exciting is what that growth is allowing our community to do.

⚾🥎 Baseball & Softball
Granbury Athletic Association saw incredible participation, and when more teams were needed, coaches and volunteers stepped up.

Not a single athlete was left on a waitlist. Every child who registered has a place to play this fall!

🏈 Football
Our local flag football program also broke participation records—and this year brings an exciting first.

The 12U Valkyries 💜⚔️, a pilot all-girls flag football team, will compete in Granbury’s local 12U division AND venture into girls flag tournaments throughout the Metroplex.

📣 Cheer
For the first time, Pirates Youth Cheer is providing cheer teams for both tackle AND flag football!

It took a lot of coordination to make happen, and we’re excited to see even more athletes getting the full game-day experience this fall.

🏐 And now… volleyball is in the works!

The response from our community about recreational youth volleyball was overwhelming. Our FREE September 12th clinic is filling quickly, and it’s the first step toward exploring what a local youth volleyball program could become.

This is the kind of growth we’re excited about:

More kids playing. More opportunities. More volunteers stepping up. And more organizations working together.

Thank you, Granbury, for continuing to show up for our kids. 💜💛

One Mission. One Future.
