PCB is excited to highlight another one of our 2024 charities, the Humane Society of Young County!

The organization was founded in 1979 by a small group of caring people who saw a need for a safe place to house the homeless animals of the community. The Humane Society aims to find good homes for animals in their custody, take in and care for abandoned and owner surrendered pets of the community, seek to return lost animals to their owners, encourage local and state law enforcement agencies to prosecute those who commit crimes against animals, educate the public on the principles of kindness and humane care to all animals, vigorously promote spay/neuter through every means possible as the only way to end pet overpopulation and euthanasia, and to provide humane euthanasia when necessary.

As they continue to grow, the Humane Society would love to expand their
clinic to accommodate more spay and neuter surgeries and preventative care for the community. The organization strives to foster the relationship with our community and citizens’ relationships with their pets.

We are thankful for all of the work the Humane Society of Young County does to support our animals and community. The PCB is excited to support this amazing organization!

Highlighting another charity we will be supporting this year! Gear Up Graham is an organization that was founded in 2014 by Eastside Church of Christ. Their mission is to provide school supplies and backpacks to students across all grade levels in the community before the upcoming school year. With the donation from PCB, the organization would be able to increase the number of students they are able to support, as the number continues to grow year over year. The funds will go towards a variety of materials, from glue sticks and scissors to folders and backpacks.

While Gear Up Graham’s primary goal is to provide school supplies to students, they have several other ideas on how to connect with local families in our community, such as hosting a dinner at their church and serve our local community.

PCB is excited to partner with Gear Up Graham this year! We are thankful for all of the support they provide to students and families in our community!
