Miles International Surgical Initiative is the brainchild of our executive director and one of the founders Keith Miles, Willie Miles Jr, and a dedicated board of directors. The inspiration for the creation of the organization occurred when board members were made aware of the problem while working with surgical equipment organizations. During their time working with these companies, they witnesse
d firsthand the lack of supplies and the extreme need for outside support. These individuals soon felt compelled to make an effort to improve healthcare systems throughout the developing countries like. Together with the support of dedicated volunteers, Miles International Surgical Initiative was born. We began by collecting monetary cash donations and donations of medical supplies which we have then been shipping to underserved regions of foreign countries. The organization has also been making direct contributions to these organizations as well, so that they may purchase needed equipment. All of our recipents provide acess to exemplary standard of services supported by state of the art equipment to patients primarliy from the financially weaker sections of society (irrespective of caste, creed, color, race and religion)
