FILIPINO-AMERICAN FUGITIVE ADDED TO FBI'S MOST WANTED FRAUDSTERS LIST
Michael Lizaso Marasigan, a Filipino-American dual citizen, has been sentenced to more than 21 years in federal prison for his role in a multimillion-dollar charity fraud scheme and is now among the FBI's Most Wanted Fraudsters.
According to U.S. authorities, Marasigan helped operate an illegal bingo hall at the Guam Shrine Club from 2015 to 2021. Prosecutors said players were told that proceeds would help fund medical trips for children seeking treatment at Shriners Hospital in Hawaii.
Instead, investigators found that more than $10.75 million was diverted for personal use from approximately $34 million generated through the operation.
A federal jury convicted Marasigan in May 2025. In May 2026, he was sentenced in absentia to 262 months (nearly 22 years) in federal prison and ordered to pay full restitution.
Authorities say Marasigan remains a fugitive after failing to return from authorized travel to the Philippines.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to his arrest.
