1 in 5 renters reprot keeping their home at an unhealthy temperature to reduce energy costs. YET the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is at risk. The President’s FY2027 budget proposal would eliminate LIHEAP, putting energy assistance for thousands of vulnerable California households in jeopardy. Congress will soon decide whether to fund LIHEAP in 2027. Now is the time to make your voice heard: https://saveliheapca.org/

Join the National Call-In Day: Thursday, August 13, 2026

Head Start has served more than 40 million children over the past 60 years. Now the federal government is proposing harmful deregulation efforts, putting this
vital program at risk! Tell Congress to call on HHS to by rescinding the proposed rule changes!

These changes will harmfully:

- diminish teacher qualification standards

Tell your Congressmember to urge HHS to stop these rule changes and
!

Take Action: https://bit.ly/45pgIA0

When there’s increased wildfire risk, utility companies may need to turn off power as a last resort to ensure public safety. This is known as a Public Safety Power Shutoff, or PSPS. 211 PSPS Care Coordination connects utility customers with access and functional needs such as a disability, limited transportation, or other conditions for assistance who reside in high fire-risk areas to valuable resources before, during, and after a PSPS. Call 211 to see if you are eligible.

If you're working or exercising outdoors, be mindful of signs like dizziness, heavy sweating or nausea. If you feel any symptoms, get to a cooler place immediately and hydrate.
