A&S Worrell Foundation in the Community! 💚💛

On September 30, 2026, members of the A&S Worrell Foundation, Inc. team had the pleasure of participating in the 2026 Career & Community Engagement Fair, hosted by United Way of Wayne County and County of Wayne!

We enjoyed connecting with members of our community and sharing more about the mission of the A&S Worrell Foundation, our community events, our signature youth development program PURPOSE PATHWAYS, and the many ways individuals can get involved through volunteer opportunities.

Thank you to United Way of Wayne County and County of Wayne for providing a wonderful opportunity for local organizations, employers, and community members to connect!

💚💛 PURPOSE PATHWAYS — HELPER DAY! 💛💚

Saturday, September 26, was another GREAT day for PURPOSE PATHWAYS! 🙌🏽

The A&S Worrell Foundation, Inc.’s youth development program, PURPOSE PATHWAYS, hosted another successful seminar. This time it was HELPER DAY! 🏥🩺

Our students had the wonderful opportunity to visit UNC Health Wayne, where they were introduced to the many different careers and jobs that make a hospital operate every day. From clinical careers to the many important roles behind the scenes, our youth were able to see that there are so many pathways to a future in healthcare.

A very special THANK YOU to Dr. Jessie Tucker and the UNC Health Wayne team for welcoming our students, sharing valuable knowledge and career insights, and investing their time in our young people. They even treated our students and volunteers to a delicious lunch in the hospital cafeteria! ❤️

Exposure creates possibilities. When our young people can see the opportunities, meet the professionals, ask questions, and imagine themselves in those careers, we are helping them discover what their future can become.

Another successful PURPOSE PATHWAYS day is in the books! Empowering Youth. Building Futures. One Pathway at a Time. 💚💛

What an incredible day at the A&S Worrell Foundation, Inc.'s Signature Program – PURPOSE PATHWAYS: LEADER DAY! 💚💛

This past Saturday, July 18, 2026, our students spent the day discovering what it truly means to lead with purpose, integrity, and confidence.

Throughout the day, students explored different leadership styles and participated in engaging, hands-on activities that helped them understand how each style can positively impact a team. They also strengthened their communication skills through public speaking exercises and speed networking, building confidence that will serve them well in school, their careers, and life.

A special thank you to our phenomenal keynote speaker, Dr. Jessie Tucker, CEO of UNC Health Wayne, for pouring into our students. Dr. Tucker shared his inspiring journey with complete transparency—speaking not only about his successes, but also about the failures that shaped his path. His powerful message reminded our students that setbacks are not the end of the story—they are often the very experiences that prepare us for our greatest purpose.

Students also participated in exciting team-building challenges that required collaboration, problem-solving, and effective leadership to achieve the best solutions. Watching them encourage one another, think critically, and lead together was truly inspiring!

At the A&S Worrell Foundation, we believe that investing in our youth today creates stronger leaders for tomorrow. We are incredibly proud of each student who showed up ready to learn, grow, and challenge themselves.

The 2nd A&S Worrell Foundation Purpose Pathways Youth Development Seminar, held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, was a tremendous success! This month’s seminar focused on the Builder Personality — so we proudly called it “BUILDER” Day! 🔨🏠

Approximately 30 students participated in hands-on small building projects designed to encourage teamwork, creativity, and leadership skills. Thanks to our wonderful partnership with Goldsboro Parks & Recreation, students were able to enjoy the comforts of the auditorium at the Peachtree Street Recreation Center, which provided the perfect setting for an engaging and impactful day of learning.

One of the highlights of the seminar was our partnership with Habitat Goldsboro-Wayne, where students had the opportunity to visit the construction site of the newest Habitat project, McNair Heights. We were also honored to welcome our keynote speaker, Mr. Matt Whittle, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne, who inspired students with valuable insights about building communities, serving others, and creating opportunities through hard work and dedication.
