Today we pause to honor the anniversary of Hurricane Helene’s devastating impact on Western North Carolina. Communities faced flooding, landslides, and loss at a level we had never seen before. Families were uprooted, homes and livelihoods were destroyed, land was reclaimed by Mother Nature, and lives were forever changed.

We also honor the incredible strength and resilience of survivors, and we remember the tireless service of VOAD members, local organizations, faith partners, and volunteers who stepped forward in those darkest days. Their compassion and commitment continue to light the path of recovery.

As NC VOAD, we remain steadfast in our mission: to serve together so that no community faces disaster alone. 💙💚

Let no one forget those impacted and let us not put down the hammers nor stop hugging the survivors until they are home again. This is going to need support for many many years to come and we cannot lose sight.

It has been an honor and privilege to be apart of this effort by JUST Do GOOD, AIR ANGELS / Season 1, and everyone involved. Thank you for telling the story.

We were honored to stand beside Kristy and the incredible NCVOAD team, whose selfless work makes a real difference when people need it most. To have them acknowledge us is humbling beyond words. Their spirit is exactly what inspires Air Angels ordinary people doing extraordinary things to save lives.

AIR ANGELS: Flight Helene

Last week, during filming for our upcoming docuseries Air Angels, something special happened on camera.

Our incredible friend and proud Balabushka supporter Julia C joined forces with Just Do GOOD Entertainment and Balabushka Cue Company to present a donation check to NCVOAD (North Carolina Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster). 🙌

This meaningful moment shows the real spirit behind Air Angels honoring those who step up and do good when it matters most.

A huge thank you to Julia, and to our powerhouse CEO Peggy Mallen, who will be featured in the series alongside host Gilbert Baez, a two-time Emmy Award winner.
