Back at it again today at the property of an elderly out-of-state homeowner.

We removed two more loads today, each weighing just over 1,500 lbs. Progress is being made, but every room seems to tell the same story.

As I worked through the property, I found myself both perturbed and embarrassed that some people in our community had so little respect for others' homes. The extent of the damage and the outright disregard for property that doesn't belong to them are difficult to understand.

Arizona recently strengthened its laws regarding squatters with the passage of SB1426, which was signed at the end of last month. While that's a positive step forward, it offers little relief to this homeowner, who is now left to deal with the aftermath.

We'll keep pushing forward, one load at a time. Every load removed is another step toward restoring this property and helping its owner reclaim what was taken from them.

The first stop this morning was to pick up two old, non-working refrigerators/freezers. I figured they'd add a little weight to the trailer... but I wasn't expecting 1,276 lbs of salvage! Apparently, these things were built back when appliances were made from equal parts steel and stubbornness.

A big thank you to Kenni Sue and Mitch for the donation!

The rest of the day was spent on a private cleanup project. Due to squatter activity, I enlisted the help of Mohave County ERACE. Six abandoned vehicles were scattered across the property, and house contents were spread everywhere. Broken doors, broken windows, and all the headaches that come with a property that has been left vulnerable for too long.

The owner is elderly, lives back east with family, and simply can't deal with the situation in person. It's a tough reminder of how quickly a property can deteriorate when no one is around to keep an eye on it.

It's going to take some work, but today was a step in the right direction. One load at a time, one pile at a time, and one property at a time. I'm glad I can help!

Spent the day back in White Hills helping Abraham continue the battle against yard clutter.

Today he donated two more unwanted vehicles and six trailer tires. The tires are a practical help because the dump and recycle yard eat tires for lunch every other time I'm there. It's just part of the deal I've come to accept.

Not the most exciting load to some, but it's another step toward getting the property cleaned up and organized. It's one load at a time, and the (tax deductible) donations go a long way toward helping cover the cost of my retirement hobby!

Started the morning helping Denise clean up after some wind damage. Loaded up 1,700 pounds of wall panels and roofing and hauled it off. That scrap turned into a little gas money and a cup of coffee.

While I was in Kingman, I got a call from a hospice care home needing help getting rid of a large TV that had quit working. I was happy to stop by and take care of it.

The rest of the day was spent working on projects around my own place. Not every day involves mountains of trash or abandoned vehicles, but helping people and keeping things cleaned up is still a good day in my book.

Back at the burn project today. We’re finally down to the last of it — loaded trailer after trailer of twisted burned metal. Tomorrow it all heads to recycling, and judging by the way the truck drives, I’d guess we’re close to 3,000 lbs.
Projects like this are brutal, dirty, and time consuming… but every pound removed is one closer to being done.
Slowly but surely, this property is coming back to life. 86413 LitterFree is doing what we can to help this family make progress and start moving forward again.

Two stops today.
First stop: picked up a donated car from Connie Anthony .
Second stop: hauled away a scrap pile donated by Foxie Kittie.
Huge thank you to both of you for helping us continue fueling our completely healthy and definitely-not-concerning trash fe**sh. Every donation helps keep 86413 a little cleaner!

Started the morning out in White Hills making a pickup from Abraham Nevarez — huge thanks to him for donating this pickup truck and several other items that we somehow managed to safely load for the trip back to GV. A little determination, and a few “that oughta hold” moments.

Next stop was Bulldog Recycling with part of Saturday’s haul plus today’s additions from Abraham.
Final tally: 1,826 lbs recycled.
Today’s scrap pile was successfully converted into: ⛽ Half a tank of gasoline
🪚 Fresh sawzall blades for an upcoming yard cleanup

All of us get frustrated with the people who selfishly dump trash around Mohave County. But through volunteering my time I’ve had the chance to meet some of the finest people in our communities. Good people still greatly outnumber the bad — and that’s what keeps me going!

Started the day at Bulldog Recycling. 1,720 lbs traded for 14 gallons of diesel.
Off to Yucca and a clean-up for Mohave County ERACE. 110 tires and 2,660lbs now at Cerbat! It’s hard to believe someone looked at the Arizona desert and thought, “Yeah… this needs more tires.”

But one pile at a time, we’ll keep cleaning it up.

Big thank you to Martyn for donating this Caravan!

After trying a few other places to get rid of unwanted vehicles and scrap, he reached out—and I was glad to make the trip out to White Hills to help him reclaim some space. Let me tell you… this guy does NOT sit still!

Donations like this go a long way in helping us keep 86413 litter-free. We appreciate you, Martyn!
