Mark your calendars and get those cars, trucks, and bikes ready! Godley Professional Firefighters Association Local 5472 is excited to host our Third Annual Car Show on Saturday, October 24th, 2026!

🏁 **Car Show:** 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
💵 **Entry Fee:** $30

Cars, trucks, and bikes are ALL welcome!

Bring the whole family out for a great Saturday in Godley! We’ll have cars, family fun, food, music, and more while enjoying an awesome fall/Halloween atmosphere.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Godley Professional Firefighters Association Benevolent Fund, helping us support our members and our community when the need arises.

Tuesday night(9/15/26), Godley City Council voted and adopted the 2026-2027 fiscal year budget. This budget included an approximate 24% increase for firefighter salaries and a new step pay plan that goes into effect October 1. A new Driver/Operator position with a new salary range was also included. This increase puts the department into a better position for firefighter retention and recruitment due to the expected future growth of the city.
Another great addition during open benefits enrollment this past July, was a new option for a 457b retirement plan that was made available in addition to the TMRS retirement already in place.
We want to thank our City Administrator Angie Winkle, Godley City Council, Mayor Chris Lenker, and Chief Brian Thompson for putting in the work to make this happen for the betterment of our firefighters and the community we serve. 👏🏻👏🏻

A few of our members have returned from deployment or are currently working the Ross Fire near Palo Pinto. We pray for their safe return. Our prayers are also with our fellow brothers and sisters also fighting this fire from departments all around and those residents that lost homes, ranch land, businesses and livestock. Pictures don’t do any justice to the devastation out there. 🙏🏻

Our prayers and sincere condolences to the friends and family of Lieutenant Isai Huerta and brothers and sisters of Odessa Fire Rescue during this difficult time. Rest in Peace brother. We have it from here. 🫡🇺🇸🙏

We would like to send our deepest condolences to the Odessa Fire Rescue and to the family of Lieutenant Isai Huerta.

Lt Huerta lost his life after he succumbed to his injuries while fighting a structure fire.

"Isai was a huge part of our organization, a true firefighter," said Odessa Fire Rescue Chief Jason Cotton. "He was always happy, always willing to help, and he truly enjoyed the job. Our department is in need of prayer, guidance, and grace as we navigate moving forward. We grieve alongside Isai's family and ask our community to keep them and our firefighters in their thoughts during this incredibly difficult time."
