Let Yourself SHINE! GIMME 5 provides daily exercises, activities and outlets to be Creative, Active, Kind, Read-Write-Rock and TRY(your best, TRY something new)
every day. It is an interactive, energizing and FUN curriculum providing resources and materials to inspire goals, assess progress and measure success. Students receive lots of high 5s while working toward goals and earning stars toward prizes and awards. Community Rocks has original Music, Merchandise, Arts, Activities and Give Back projects inspired by kids, teens, toddlers and their families. We listen, learn and respectfully observe the world around us to develop our methods and programs. This year we are humbled and proud to be celebrating 17 years of Community Rockin’. Our VISION is for all kids, families and folks in EVERY neighborhood have access to all of the above and more! We dream that one day there will be Community Rocks "Corner Stores of Wellness" in every neighborhood. Safe spaces and places to EXPRESS, create, PERFORM, learn, LAUGH, love, STRENGTHEN, serve, CELEBRATE community and SHOP locally for healthy foods, fruits & veggies! Our PROGRAMS SERVE low-income families with historically underserved youth, high-income families with historically privileged youth and everyone in between. Community Rocks inspires kindness and empowers kids, families and everyday folks to make a difference in themselves and their communities. KIDS BAND: Sara O’Brien & the Community Rocks! Kids create inspirational and educational music written by kids, with kids and for kids ages 3-16 to inspire confidence, enhance literacy, motivate movement and celebrate self-expression.
