Charcot-Marie-Tooth, or CMT, is the most commonly inherited peripheral neuropathy and is found worldwide among all races and ethnic groups. Discovered in 1886 by three physicians, Jean-Martin Charcot, Pierre Marie, and Howard Henry Tooth, CMT affects an estimated 3 million people.

The CMTA Inherited Neuropathy Consortium Alliance (CMTA-INC) has enrolled its 10,000th patient, marking a major milestone in CMT research and bringing us one step closer to treatments.

From discovering 30 CMT-causing genes to publishing more than 300 studies and paving the way for clinical trials, CMTA-INC has transformed what we know about CMT. And every patient who participates in research helps move that work forward.

During our recent Q3 Lunch & Learn, CMT community member Victoria Berezovich shared her AFO journey, including her experience finding the right AFOs at the CMTA Patient & Research Summit in Boston.
