Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association CMT is the most commonly inherited peripheral neuropathy. Our vision: A world without CMT.
(290)

Our mission: to support the development of new treatments for CMT, to improve the quality of life for people with CMT, and, ultimately, to find a cure. Charcot-Marie-Tooth, or CMT, is the most commonly inherited peripheral neuropathy and is found worldwide among all races and ethnic groups. Discovered in 1886 by three physicians, Jean-Martin Charcot, Pierre Marie, and Howard Henry Tooth, CMT affects an estimated 3 million people.

What happens when Footprint Fellowship fellows and mentors are given 52 opportunities to spread awareness?

For many individuals living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, explaining CMT can feel like one of the most daunting parts of living with the disease. That’s why this month, every fellow and mentor in the Footprint Fellowship received 52 “What is CMT?” cards — 52 opportunities to introduce someone new to CMT, spark conversation, and grow more confident sharing their story beyond the walls of Camp Footprint.

Here are just a few of the many people across the country who have received a “What is CMT?” card from a Footprint Fellowship fellow or mentor. 💙
