The Company was founded in 1959 as one of the first companies to provide public transportation services in Southern California and has since then built an even stronger reputation as one of the top leaders in the industry.
The company offers services in the Taxi, ADA paratransit (Shared Ride) and fixed-route industries from the various office locations in the Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties.
About The Role
We are looking to hire an IT Manager who will be accountable for the management, delivery, support, and performance of reliable IT Infrastructure and application services supporting the business processes and strategies in the company. The right candidate is highly skilled, responsible, and reliable to be able to drive IT operational excellence throughout this company.
The IT department consists of you as the IT Manager as well as a systems administrator whom you will manage on a daily basis. There is a managed service provider who will help maintain the routers, firewalls, and switches in 6 out of 7 office locations. The 7th location will need your attention to manage and maintain all I.T. infrastructure.
There are about 284 workstations, 30+ servers, 25 switches, and 8 firewalls/routers across all locations combined. (Routers, switches, and firewalls for 6/7 locations will be maintained by the managed service provider with your team providing local IT support as needed)
Responsibilities & Qualifications
You’ll work out of the main office as your home base and travel to other office locations as necessary.
Your primary responsibilities will include the following:
- Lead IT projects from an infrastructure perspective.
- Maintain network-level security for all systems and users, to prevent external breaches via Email or unsafe user browsing practices.
- Update and maintain all anti-virus software updates across all systems in all offices from a central location. Make sure no outbreaks go wild.
- Educate users about safe web browsing and email usage techniques to prevent Phishing or Ransomware attacks
- Become familiar with the existing VOIP phone system to help with basic user phone related issues. (Telephony maintenance is done by the managed service provider)
- Monitor IT systems performance from central location/software in the main office. Find and resolve issues before they turn into catastrophes.
- Work with external vendors (Telecom vendors, contractors and resellers).
- Procure, maintain and upgrade all desktops, printers, servers and storage devices.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software or security issues related to internal networks for all 7 office locations.
- Manage your second in command, jr/entry level system administrator also working from the main office.
- Maintain the existing helpdesk system and make sure all tickets are being worked on by the IT department in a timely manner.
- Help with onboarding new employees for various offices and departments within the organization.
- Be the main point of contact for the Managed Service Provider working with the company to resolve network issues, switch, firewall or router issues as their point of contact locally.
- Maintain and organize all IT assets, information, diagrams, circuit information and any other key technical information about all offices in a secure manner.
- Maintain Windows Servers (Active Directory environments, application servers, SQL servers as well as print servers)
- Maintain and manage automatic database backups for all sql servers to be sure they are not skipped or have any errors.
- Drive to the remote offices from time to time as needed.
- Be available on the phone during and after work hours. 24/7. Rotate the on-call response with your staff if needed.
- Maintain VM Ware environments we have in few different locations including the main office. (Upgrade software, hardware, VMs and make sure Virtual environments are functional and healthy)
Support remote users with LogMeIn software as needed.
- Participate in RFPs for the I.T. sections and provide support, information and suggestions to the operations C-level team so they can accurately complete RFP requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Highly reliable and responsible individual.
- 7+ years of I.T. management experience
