U.S. Air Force 2nd Lt. Kylie Chagaris, an admissions advisor for the Air Force Academy, spoke with Civil Air Patrol cadets at both the Sky Harbor and Falcon Composite Squadrons about applying to attend the Academy. Sky Harbor cadets learned about the three pillars of Academy life: military development, academics, and athletics.

Civil Air Patrol’s cadet program develops future leaders, and about 10% of every entering class at the Air Force Academy includes CAP cadets who have chosen to test their leadership skills by pursuing a military career.

At both squadrons, cadets asked many questions about the application process and daily life at the Academy, keeping Lt. Chagaris engaged well past her scheduled presentation time.

A new school year means a new year of Aerospace Connections in Education!

Our cadets kicked off the year by entering the classroom to help first- and second-graders explore cloud science while learning more about the world above them.

The ACE program gives Civil Air Patrol cadets an opportunity to connect with students, support teachers, and bring exciting, hands-on aerospace education into the classroom.

Is your school ready to start ACE? Through ACE, schools can connect with a local Civil Air Patrol squadron and bring ACE opportunities into the classroom.

For squadrons looking to expand recruitment, ACE Plus is also a great way to build relationships with local schools and counts toward several Aerospace Education initiatives.

Ever wonder what happens when a small airplane strays into protected airspace? KJZZ Phoenix reporter Connor Greenwall went along with a Civil Air Patrol Arizona Wing aircrew and describes being intercepted by Air National Guard F-16s.

Since 9/11, it has become routine for fighter jets to enforce temporary flight restrictions and treat non-responsive aircraft as hostile. The Civil Air Patrol helps certify Air Force pilots for these missions.

Members of Sky Harbor Composite Squadron in Phoenix staffed the CAP activity table at the Commemorative Air Force Museum in Mesa on August 8. From paper airplanes to flight simulators, this monthly activity is designed to share CAP's story with museum visitors, especially younger visitors, to spark an interest in aerospace, STEM, and community service.

1st Lt Brett Seidell leads the Arizona Wing drone (sUAS) team, which supported searches for missing people and aircraft as part of a training exercise this weekend. The team searched for dummies pre-staged to serve as search targets during the exercise.
