Civil Air Patrol’s Arizona Wing broke ground today on a new Falcon Composite Squadron facility at Falcon Field Airport in Mesa, Arizona. The new facility will replace a building constructed in 1970. Arizona Wing Commander Colonel Linda Yaeger said, “This new facility represents an essential investment in emergency services, aerospace education, and youth development for the East Valley and Arizona.”

Civil Air Patrol’s Arizona Wing conducted the annual Precautionary Search and Rescue mission along the Colorado River during the Labor Day holiday weekend. Working with the local sheriff’s office, 25 CAP aircrew members in eight CAP aircraft from across the state flew patrols along the river to ensure the safety of boaters and holiday revelers.

Four Deer Valley Composite Squadron cadets received certificates honoring their achievement of significant milestones in Civil Air Patrol's cadet program. Cadets James Trevolt and Tyler Hoff earned the Amelia Earhart Award and the grade of cadet captain. Cadets Parineet Bharadwaj and Justin Swenson earned the Billy Mitchell Award and the grade of cadet second lieutenant. As cadets reach these milestones, they are given greater responsibility to lead and train their fellow cadets.
